Hi my parents want to cancel their sky package tv, phone, broadband, am I right in thinking that to cancel the phone part I will need to get a mac code and then go elsewhere and do I ask for this when cancelling their services?

Thanks

First step is to find out if they are in contract and how much it will cost to cancel the contract .

Thanks been out of contract for years I managed the last few times to get deals with no yearly contract, but now they just want to cancel.

I was thinking I phone up to cancel tv then get a Mac code later for phone and Internet, is this correct or do I do it differently?

    Thanks
  • You can keep tel and broadband without tv AND you should be offered a good deal to do that but some people on this forum don't seem to be offered the deals.

If you cancel tv only then telephone and broadband will increase in price when the tv ends.
If you are on Sky Network then you just need to ask the other provider to take over the number to cancel the services.
If you are on BT network then you will need a MAC.

You can check which you are on by going to BT ADSL Checker and putting in your number.

If you are on BT Network you will get speed estimates. If you are on Sky Network you'll get this message "There is no data available for this number. This could be either because it is not a BT line or it is a new BT number that has just been provided. Most new numbers will appear on the checker 24 hours after BT has installed the line."
