Sky broadband - good deal

Just got quite a good deal with sky. My broadband contract has nearly ended so I just asked them if they could do broadband at normal price and free line rental for next year, they said yes. So I'm paying £10 a month for unlimited broadband and line rental and free weekend calls.

Worth asking if your contract has ended or is ending soon.

On Monday, they told me this deal did not exist and that people on here tell porkies.....Then anyone can tell porkies.

I wanted free line rental and would take anytime calls, again, so they would make more out of me. (I'm not giving up, though)

You need to phone the correct Retention department. Are you sure you phoned Broadband only Cancellations? as it's only them that have these type of deals. Lots of people call TV or Whole Account Cancellations and they don't get these offers.

I went on to my sky - contact us and then opened up a chat window after saying I wanted to leave. The chap was very helpful.
To be honest I was going to leave as there are some good deals around especially with cashback but decided to stay put after this offer.

I didn't realise there was a separate department for bb retentions. I did speak to retentions, though, rather than general cs.

So , I need to call and ask specifically for bb/phone cancellations . (Last time I just said I needed to cancel tv and asked to be put through to retentions)

I may try online, next time.

    Thanks for the advice.
