Ask them as soon as possible, say that you would consider cancelling if you really really had to, but point out that you've been working so hard at job-hunting that you will make a much better start if you can do so refreshed from a holiday!

If they won't let you delay the start, then would you really want to work there? Of course it's possible that if you don't start then that they'll want to delay your start even further because whoever's going to show you the ropes will be away, and they might have been hoping you could cover for them. But all you can do is ask!

When I get rejection letter after rejection letter, I feel like absolute rubbish. But I did manage to get a very good job which will also give me loads of office experience, so all of those rejection letters were for the best. I always (try really hard) to remember, there is a better job waiting for me. Doesn't always work, but I try!
