  • Good morning all, It's very grey here too at the moment, but It's still early yet, hopefully it should pick up later like yesterday, as I've got quite a pile of laundry.

    Today I will also,
    * Cook from stores tonight, hunters chicken and hm wedges w/ salad
*Sort through all my Christmas papers/ cards/ tags from last year to see what I need to get / make
    * Pop to country baskets as they have a flash sale today 15% off, was planning on going on Saturday anyway, so I will save me some money

Have a great day everyone x

    Morning all,

Terribly grey and foggy up here today, seems to be the norm now. For some reason had problems posting yesterday, hope this works today!

Struggling with concentrating today, am distracted by the referendum, this is possibly the biggest moment in history I'll live through and I'm feeling the weight of it. Actually had a tear in my eye this morning putting my X in the box. Whatever the result boht the UK and Scotland won't be the same place tomorrow and I feel very privaliged to have been part of this.

Luckily for my lack of concentration it's only a short day in work, they're sending us out gardening for a charity site this afternoon.... I struggle to cut my grass regularly nevermind what they're hoping I'll be able to do!

Hugs to the poorlies and those needing one, hope you all have a good day.

    Hi everyone,

Good luck to DD Hester. I'm glad you slept better TTFtM, I did too - I tried drinking hot chocolate before bed to see if it helped and I did manage to drop off by about 1 am. I'm feeling tired though, I think the run of late nights is taking its toll.

Talking of that DS rang for a moan last night. His GF is working silly hours and not getting home until after midnight most nights so he usually waits to pick her up from the station. Yesterday morning they slept through the alarm - his boss rang to see where he was. They've been rowing as well (because they're both shattered of course). I hope they'll be ok because they're so good together.

DD is off to St Petersburg today until Saturday night, I hope she has a good time.

I need to talk to some more estate agents about mum's house today, I just want to get rid of it now, it's been dragging on for months.

    Have a good day.
  • Can anyone recommend me a sewing machine? I have been thinking of buying one for ages and a nice surprise ebay sale has provided some unexpected funds. I was looking at the Lidl Silvercrest one for £59.99 but wondered if I am better looking at a John Lewis or an IKEA one or a big name like Singer, Brother etc.

I want one that I can start quilting, other than that would want to make cushion covers and curtains and some basic clothes, on so am not sure a really basic one will be ok but I haven't really got any idea of what I need/can afford. Any help/advice would be gratefully received.

Hester - hope all goes well for your DD today x

    Good morning everyone :hello:

A later start to the day for me as I was just so tired I couldn't get out of bed this morning. I laid in till 8.30 and then I remembered I had the CMHT coming at 9...panic stations . I managed to have a shower and get dressed before they got here and they were very nice . My support worker is going to come and see me every week for a while and help me by encouraging me to go out with her. I feel really nervous but it will all be done at my pace.

I have shopping being delivered this morning at some point which is just as well as the fridge is bare. I have never seen it so empty which is a good thing as it means we are actually using up the stuff inside instead of binning it. I just had the last of the pate on some toast with coleslaw, very nice if a bit unusual for breakfast :D.

Good luck to Hester's DD for today, she must be worn out before she starts and also I hope your nose is ok Tru. I had a chicken fly at my face when I was a child and to be honest it's made me a bit scared of them.

There is very little OSing going on today here. I have done some washing and that's about it. We are even having a chinese for tea so no cooking...hooray! Hope everyone manages to have a great day whatever they are up to, take care xx

Mornin' all :hello: - beautiful start to the day here animated-smileys-weather-036.gif.

Need to catch up on yesterday's posts, as well as today's. Was mia due to some kind of 'uncomfortable stomach thingy'. Not sure what happened but had an absolutely lousy night's sleep followed by a day of laying on the sofa with nothing but cups of boiled water :(. Another lousy, uncomfortable night but I've managed a piece of toast and one mild, weak coffee this morning. Still got 'the grumblies' going on, but I think it's just down to being empty :(. I'll go for a shower and get dressed shortly and might take a short walk around the block, just to get some fresh air and stretch my legs - I'm sure it'll help to liven me up.

((((Big Hugs)))) to all who are feeling down and need one - I'll just promise not to share my bug with you ;).

Hope Poppy is soon feeling better, Molly - maybe we have the same thing :rotfl:.

tru - hope your girls all soon learn to settle down together and sort themselves out properly. 'Pecking Order' is definitely the right term ;).

Hester - hope all goes well for your daughter. Poor girl must be feeling absolutely drained by now - and her darling baby as well. HSbestwishes1.gif to all your family. At the time, I didn't realise how lucky I was with my deliveries - 2 and a half, 3 and a half and final one at 4 and a half.

Hope everybody has a good day - providing I don't flake out again, I'll pop back in later to see what news you've all got.

Take care - luv Lilyplonk xxx
  • Been MIA for a few days, had my biopsy done on Monday and the swelling is just starting to go down.
Living on mushy food at the moment and I haven't lost a blooming ounce :(
Not been doing much over the last few days, but managed to go shopping this morning with DH.

Hester wishing your DD lots of luck for today

animated-smileys-birthday-037.gif It is my brother, brother in law's and great niece's (bro's grandaughter) birthdays today...........three birthdays on the same day

Nothing much else to tell so BFN x

  • Afternoon all,

Lilyplonk and Butterfly Brain - Hope you are feeling better.

Wow! How hot is it today. Really melting.

Went to look for some trousers today but came back with two bras instead.

Hoovered out my car. DH came home while I was doing it and nearly fainted with shock as I never clean out my car :)

Watched Bake off last night. Anyone else thought those pastry and butter things they made looked very boring? I'd be miffed if someone made me some of them as I'd at least want some jam inside... unless I'm just greedy...

Have a good evening all :)

TTFtM - I quilt and would recommend getting as good a machine as you can. I bought a Janome machine which I've been happy with (so happy DH bought me a bigger one recently). I think that Janome also make the John Lewis machines but I might be wrong about that. I'd go to either John Lewis or a machine shop where they let you try the machines and explain all the features to you to find one that suits you.
  • Well it has been a glorious day after such a grey start. Two lots of washing dried and ready to put away.

Hester I hope everything has gone to plan today, do you have a new grandchild?
