I'm surprised this hasn't already been mentioned, but I'd suggest an M3.0

Why must you continue this needless sarcasm despite the fact that I have stopped mentioning my car in threads such as these?
And why is the M3 such an outlandish suggestion for the OP? Yes he/she maybe in financial debt but what else? Besides cost everything else is postive0 -

I tell you what, I'll stop the sarcasm when you stop posting advice from the standpoint of assumed expertise.0 -

OP has been quite clear that they want something with reliability and economy.
I suggest an IS 250.0 -
Can't get a cheaper car to run than one you don't own, so I too would choose the Lexus IS250.0

Yes I have considered the i10 but would prefer the new shape, which of course is still rather expensive. You would think that the old shape would be as cheap as chips now, but I haven't seen any for sale at knock down prices.
Do like the 5 year warranty though:)
Don't know how economical an i10 would be in terms of mpg.
I got the new shape i10 1.2 premium brand new down to £9900 at one dealer....its a great car to drive but we decided it was too small.
I wouldnt consider the old shape i10 so if the new shape is too expensive then I would go for the Picanto.
Ignore those that say toyota etc are more reliable0 -
