Estate Agent Gift Ideas?

Maybe I am Scrooge, but buying our EA a gift after we moved recently never crossed our minds. They did very nicely out of their 1% + VAT already. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0

We were in a similar situation a few years ago OP where our EA went above and beyond to ensure a smooth sale. What we did was write to their MD/HO cc to the local office with a fulsome letter singing their praises and naming individuals who had worked particularly hard on our behalf. Went down a treat, a bit more permanent than any gifts and a boost to their morale when all they usually get is complaints.£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

I'm thinking of doing the same for my broker. Sure they earn commission on the deal, but it's a nice gesture and you never know when you might need them again, especially if you think they've done a good job.
I will NOT be doing the same for my solicitor, but that's another story!
Yes i agree, will be doing the same for my broker, instrumental again in seeing the transaction through to completion0 -

I have in the past promised a magnum of champagne before the deal was done: Gets their attention if nothing else...
If you really want to do them a favour write a very positive thanks letter praising the individual(s) concerned & send it to the highest director/manager you can find: That will be worth loads more to the individuals...0 -
Given the Festive Season is approaching, check first for whoever's doing deals on the big tins of sweeties (Morrisons, last I heard, but please check!)
That and a card & a bunch of flowers (already in a vase?) is downright handsome.
If you plan to have doings with them again, add a carefully worded letter, naming names, thanking those who you feel have gone above & beyond for you, copied to them, their management & their senior management. You'll see somewhat stupefied expressions intially but when the penny drops, the whole team will be stretching that bit further for you.
While you're buying the sweeties, &/or biscuit assortment, get extras to take to your dentist, GP & schools to facilitate relocating notes, introduce yourself & generally start & end sundry relationships with appreciation.0 -
Chocolate to stop them stealing it from their clients' properties.

I've given Champagne/fizz/wine for males and flowers for a female EA.
And only if I think they've gone over and above...

I think it's a lovely idea - I would suggest a box of chocs for the office - at the mo most of the supermarkets have them for £5 a box, also a letter to the management saying thank u naming the individual.
Yes ok they've made a sale - but as you say if they have gone beyond the call of duty it is nice to show you appriciate it.
A recent one we had, up on holiday in wales and my father got rushed into hospital seriously ill, I'm trying to find alternative accommodation as we needed to stay there - the amount of phone calls and driving around kept hitting virtual brick walls - it's summer holidays ( I know that's why we were on holiday) then it was sorry don't take pets - then by a miracle i saw a lady who rents a caravan - pet free - but after explaining what happened - no problem, bring the dog and if u need to leave him in the caravan that's ok, it will be a one off pet stay - some people might say she's getting paid for the van - as she was an older lady I brought her a pot plant and small box of chocs - she cried it was the first time anyone had done that for her - she then said if ever I want to hire the caravan again no prob and I can bring the dog.
For me a little thank you made the ladies day, and a future booking esp as she was a lot cheaper than where we currently stayed xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
