Mistaken delivery...

Hmm. Royal Mail charge about £15 for a package this size on "international tracked and signed for" to Poland. That's with up to £250 compensation.

Amazon... From what I can gather they appear to be a part of the original problem; in dropping the original order, and ceasing contact with the supplier. But at this point, that is between Amazon and the supplier. I don't want to play piggy in the middle on that!

I thought that hearing the conclusion of this story might be appreciated.

I had contacted Amazon again, more for completeness than in hope. They wanted nothing to do with it.

So, I told the company that I could put the tablet in the post, but I disclaimed any responsibility for it, after despatch. Or they could send me pre-paid packaging, or arrange a courier to collect it.

They opted for a courier. After some discussion of timing, and sundry delays, a man from DPD collected it on Wednesday. So it took about a month and a half to get it sorted out, counting from my initial attempt at contact.

Interestingly, the people who came out looking the worst in this are Amazon. They came across as, at best, clueless. At worst, arbitrarily obstructive.
