Hypothetical infant airfare

Something to consider...
Most airlines regard an infant as a baby not yet reached their 2nd birthday.
Any thoughts on whether they can travel on an infant ticket if they had their birthday during the holiday...i.e if they were 1yr 51wks on the way out and 2yr 1wk on the way back.
My baby girl is 2 soon and am looking to book a holiday last minute and there is a big price difference between an infant and a child.

It is based on their age on the return journey, so if she turns two whilst on holiday you will have to pay a child fare unfortunately.0

Thanks for your help on this one, we are going on a long haul flight and felt that it would be better just to cough up the additional fare so that she can have her own seat and not be stuck sitting on our knee for over 8 hours.
We will have our other child who is even younger, if anyone would like to offer any advice for flying with babies I would love to hear it. :-)0 -
Depends on the airline I think. With BA I believe you get to pay the infant fare and get a seat for your child for "free" on the inbound flight.0
