Leasing car for the first time, Is our calculation correct?

The guy is leasing the car for 2 years only. So it will be under warranty and as long as he follows the servicing schedule then any future issues will not be his concern.
OP check out PCP deals and and taking out a loan. So the sums.0 -

A diesel Leon being called a 'sports car'?
Anyway last month for less than a thousand more over the term there was some Golf R deals about. Well worth it for low mileage fun for a couple of years.0 -
We've been using old banger's for quite some time now and mostly ended up with huge MOT costs and used uneconomical mpg's.
But I bet they weren't costing £224 a month.....
If you simply want a new car, then just say "f**k it, I want a car" instead of making excuses
I agree with the comments about diesel, very bad idea for that mileage.
Who the hell is trying to say a Leon is a "sports car"? :rotfl:
(I missed that bit and CBA to go searching)
I just feel it's a bit dangerous to let people think they're driving some high performance machine, when they're actually just driving a shopping trolley.... Causes them to drive beyond their ability and leads to much embarrassment at the good old traffic light grand prix.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

To me, on face value £6k seems fair to rent a new car for 2 years and I was flush for cash I might do it
Bit like buying a new £20k car and then selling it after 2 years for £14k, this would also cost £6k over 2 years.
However, £20k can get you a VERY nice used car & so I would personally lean this way if I had that sort of money to spend.
If I didn't have that sort of cash tucked away I would probably look to spend less than £6k renting or depreciating a car and would buy used. Not a banger, but maybe something costing £6k which in 2 years I could either keep or sell on for £4k
Just my view, may be completely different to others but I guess that's why we come here
Happy motoring with whatever you decide0 -

In my experience and as has been the subject of a few threads on here, manufacturers won't cover DPF problems caused by lack of use under warranty as they're essentially self-inflicted, and they're the issue here for the OP's use.
However, I suspect the OP will go ahead and do what they like, as they've been told plenty of times in their other threads not to buy a diesel but they still seem hell-bent on it.0 -

I think it's criminal how they don't tell customers about this when they go into the showroom.... In fact they actually lie about it JUST to sell a car. Telling the customer what they think they want to hear.BeenThroughItAll wrote: »However, I suspect the OP will go ahead and do what they like, as they've been told plenty of times in their other threads not to buy a diesel but they still seem hell-bent on it.
Perhaps the salesman has been telling OP what they think they want to hear.
It's weird, because salesmen often haven't a clue about cars, yet people automatically assume they're experts. It's that "gift of the gab" thing again, the louder and more often one speaks, the more intelligent and trustworthy one seems.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Except when the words are 'E92 M3, E92 M3, E92 M3' in my experience.0
