Teletext holiday - bus didn't turn up to take us back

Hi there
really looking for some advice here. Had nothing but problems from day one with Teletext (they took an extra charge of £736 from my cc on top of the holiday cost which took a month to get back). Anyway we were returning from our holiday and had the confirmation of booking for the coach return etc - was outside the hotel 15 mins prior to pick-up time. 10 mins after said pick-up time, start to sweat. 15 mins later - mad panic. Eventually i called both the helpline in Majorca and the one back home. No joy - no bus ever turned up. Eventually to cut a long-story short we had no choice but to get a taxi to the airport which cost us 90 Euros. On my return I called Teletext many times (average length of call - 20 mins - not cheap) and emailed many times - so far I have had one response by email and a letter of confirmation that they had received my complaint. I sent them copy of the receipt from the taxi and also the original bus booking. In my opinion they are in breach of contract but trying to contact them is a nightmare. Will I ever get a refund?:mad:

    Did you call the transfer company 2-3 days before you were due to fly home to confirm a pick up time and confirm that you definitely wanted picking up?
    You should have been sent a transfer voucher for your coach (which is where I presume you got the helpline number in Majorca from) which would have said something along the lines of
    "Your estimated pick up time is xx:xx but please call our local office to confirm an exact time 2-3 days prior to your departure to confirm an accurate pick up time".

    If you didn't do this then you will not get any form of refund.

  • thanks for your replies - yes we received a confirmation three days prior but it had the wrong flight time on it which we rectified. As the correct flight time was on the original initial booking when we booked the airport transfer - i don't know how they got that wrong. However we did phone (twice) from the reception at the hotel to confirm the new pickup time.

    hollydays thanks for the links it looks like Teletext will have a lot of complaints to deal with.

    Terrible company and impossible to communicate with.
    Why not start your own thread to keep everyone updated as to how they dealt( or didn't) with it.

    Hamstercheeks started this thread, I would have thought it more appropriate to post any updates here rather than starting a new thread.
