Lastminute.com cancelled my hotel booking

Hi,

I am looking to see if anyone else has has this problem & how you got on...

I booked a flight & hotel flying out on Sunday with last minute.com. I paid in full & received a confirmation saying it was all booked..

A couple of days later, I got an email saying there was a mistake in the pricing of it. They have told me that they have had to cancel the hotel. They are happy to refund me the hotel part of my booking, but not the flights.

I have tried around the web & cannot find any clear guidance...

Can anyone help??

We are suppose to be flying on Sunday...

    Obviously Last Minute must have had a pricing error on their website at the time of booking, as they have now offered you a refund unfortunately there isn't much else you can do other than try to book it with someone else or find a new hotel.

  • They said it was the hotel that made the mistake... They are only offering a partial refund..

    I was looking to see if anyone knew what the legal point of view is...

    did they not give you the option to pay the correct price for the hotel? what is the difference in £, was it an obvious error?

    If you had one price for hotel/flight (eg you do not see the split between them) then this is a package and you should be able to cancel the whole trip if they allowing you to cancel the hotel
    If separate elements then this would be "flight plus" and I don't believe you are covered in the same way when there has been an error

    We will endeavour to correct errors and omissions on the Website or elsewhere, and take appropriate action as soon as practicable after being notified of them. Neither we nor the supplier are under any obligation to honour bookings for Products where there is a pricing error, even if you have received a confirmation email. In these circumstances, we reserve the right to correct any pricing errors on the Website and to either offer you the opportunity to keep your booking at the correct price or cancel your booking without liability.

  • We turned up at a hotel once which we had paid last minute for and it was full! We couldn't contact them and had to find our own alternative accomodation. Never used them since!
