[FONT="]Six month old Nexus 10 tablet will not turn on.
I have it password protected if that is relevant.
Tried all the Google fixes EXCEPT removing the battery.
Still will not turn on.
Sent back to Samsung & they have returned it to me as BER ( beyond economical repair ).
They have told me in the email that the product is 'damaged' !!!
But not what the damage is !!
Oh no it is not !!!
Sounds to me like they are trying it on.......
What is the best way of handling this ??
I was thinking of quoting the Sale Of Goods Act ??
To Samsung or Expansys ( the retailer)
Bit p*ssed off really as this is only 6 months old.
Any advice welcome...........

SOGA is between you and the retailer, and you should have gone to them before going anywhere near Samsung. You should certainly 'reasonably' expect it to last more than 6 months, and it will surely also be under warranty at this point too.
Expansys might want you to jump through some hoops, so you might as well get used to repeating yourself!
I've got a Nexus 10 and have had no problems with it, but Android tablets can lock up and need the odd big charge or special button combination to get them going.
SO:
What have you done?
Left it charging for 24 hours untouched?
Held in (check this) power and down button to force you into the bootloader?
Anything else...0 -
This is the second nexus 10 I've heard not starting in 2 days.
Expansis website does say to contact the manufacture first.
Good luck.Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0 -
You need to ask Samsung what the damage found is first .
Then decide if you want to challenge the vendor and that's best with an independent engineers report .
One presumes that Samsung have carried out the normal factory reset and other tests and actually identified the damage .0 -
Damp, water damage perhaps??0

Would like to see this if you have a link - this directly contradicts SOGA, and sounds like they're just trying to fob you off. Certainly reseach fixing it yourself (as OP seems to have tried) but the RETAILER is responsible for fixing/replacing a faulty product.Expansis website does say to contact the manufacture first.0 -
Strange why you would send a NEXUS back to Samsung.0

Why not? Samsung make them.
