Talktalk TV - any good?

Contract now up with TT and looking at my options.
Currently pay monthly:
TT £30 for broadband and anytime calls/line rental
Sky £37 for Entertainments Extra HD (I think)
Spoke to TT yesterday and they offered me:
BB/Phone/Plus TV for £23.20 per month, or an extra £5 for Fibre Optic.
We've always had Sky and I like the idea pause, record, playing, plus its on demand and catch up features.
Does anyone have much experience of the tv package TT offers? I looked at the different channels and of the 70 freeview channels, only about half would be any good to us, plus I'd be missing out on Sky Atlantic which is where I get most of my viewing.
The other thought I had was, since I'm getting it for free anyway (apparently they offer BB only or full bb/phone/TV package, but no bb/phone??) could I put it in a separate room and keep the SKy package? Could see how it goes for a while and then cancel Sky if it OK? Is this allowed?
Appreciate any feedback

Talk Talk TV, is Freeview ( You need a Terrestrial Aerial) with additional premium channels delivered over the internet. If you don't want paid for channels just get a YouView box.
As Sky is delivered over a satellite they can coexist. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
No need to pay for a subscription just to get the PVR functions. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Does talktalk deliver additional freeview channels via internet if they're not available in that area? My area only gets 1,2,3,4 e4 and cbbc and a few others, do Dave etc get transmitted over the net or are you stuck without it?Alcohol-free to be debt-free (26/09/2014) :beer:0

you view is overpriced pants personally for the money . When we had it the remote was laggy , demand 5 was unwatchable , (with Fibre ) and the only thing the you could record was the free view channels , not stuff streamed . I now have now tv and a freeview box for £5 per month you get sky atlantic sky 1 etc and the remote is not laggy .0

The basic TT TV package offers nothing other than freeview with the recording\youview interface. If you want anything else then you need to buy the pack you are interested in separately.
Also i must agree with devizes18193 regarding the usability of the youview as supplied by TalkTalk. My mum has the basic TT TV package and the YouView is so laggy (on a 12 MB connection) if you have been used to sky you will find it unusable. Even if i didnt have Sky i would never waste my time or money on youview.0 -
What others here have said about the TT supplied YouView boxes being laggy is true and widely reported. However TT have just announced an update fix to increase stability and speed the boxes up. Users who have had this update have reported it works and they are happy.
