Economists Urge Scotland to Vote No......

It's maybe possible that Scotland having greater fiscal passers will feed into the notion that "going the whole way " is an easy step, but it could easily go the other way, drawing attention to the "value for money" that the other funding brings to the Scots.
But I doubt if the SNP has the intellectual honesty to consider anything but their own fairy land run by the Scottish Master Race; they would have led the Scots into an economic basket case of a country for all the reasons we explained before but were ignored by the SNP in their Referendum Conpaign.
As for the increased Scottish funding, I,'m quite happy for the Scots to become responsible for their own overspending, but not for all taxation. Scotland has to pay its dues to benefit from the advantages of being in the Union. Mind you, the freeloading SNP will not see it that way, they're quite capable of ignoring the decision of the Scottish people.
This is the kind of condescending post that will have readers scratching their heads. How did anybody think that Scotland would stay forever with a country which let George Osbourne announce he'd rather wreck Scotland than let it leave I good shape. And where the three parties all joined in in agreement.
Where the media are fill of gloating posts about how poor (or wee or stupid) Scotland would have been if they'd chosen indy.
The Scottish electorate seemed to have spotted that, judging by the way they're deserting the unionist parties and flocking to the pro-indy ones.

The 1st para is just a variant of the anti Westminster rant , a sulk because the economic truths of separation did not coincide with SNP fantasies ... a failure to understand that when you leave a club you stop benefitting from a now-defaulted membership.
Osborne did not announce he wanted to "wreck Scotland" --- that's simply a lie.
The second para is typical of two things, first a refusal to regard unfavourable facts as facts and secondly equating, yet again, the SNP fantasy with Scotland.Union, not Disunion
I have a Right Wing and a Left Wing.

The SNP have never been more popular, now there is no danger that supporting them will lead to independence.0 -

We`re certainly in the dog days of the current arrangements. The British constitutional settlement is now totally unfit for purpose and those who wish to see the continuation of the Union are going to have to get their heads around a more federal system of government in the future. Unless the Scots press the nuclear button and opt for independence (my preference), a federal UK is inevitable.
As an aside I do fear for the Scots, as the loss of the English subsidy either with independence or under a truly federal arrangement will cause them great hardship and make their protestations about the actions of a Westminster Tory Chancellor laughable.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
Careful what you wish for, the South East would economically love to jettison dead wieght but currently behold camradary to all corners of the team GB. Erode that at your peril if oil goes to $20.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0

The Scottish grievance has become less and less about independence and is now about the threat of independence without actually wanting it in order to extract more money from a panicky British establishment.
Its been a very successful tactic so far, but in a rapidly changing political landscape in the UK, it cannot and will not work for too much longer.
Unfortunately for the Scots the English are now getting as parochial as they are, and they'll soon start voting accordingly.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
Which makes independence a certainty - no doubt sped on by the EU exit referendum. Bring it on!0

Dream on!
For Scotland`s attitude to the Union read England`s to the EU, both will drip incessantly about it but come a referendum they'll vote for the status quo.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

Yeah border posts, rebuilding Hadrian's wall, visas, newspapers you can believe, that's all credible, but a peaceful democratic restructuring of Britain's obviously an outrageous fantasy like Nessie, Brigadoon, ...
