Where to go from Sky?

I have been a Sky Customer for 2 1/2 years and what with all the devices we have at home my broadband is really becoming a limiting factor in our lives. I went onto the Sky site and it had a deal with fibre for £0/month for 6 months. I called Sky to order but the upgrade guy had no idea about the offer, I looked at the T&Cs on the site and it seems it is for new customers only. No way am I going to pay £20/month for something others are getting for free for 6 months and when I can go elsewhere and get a deal easily.
Here is the problem, there seems to be so few internet providers these days and no matter where you look you find complaints so I thought the knowledgeable people on MSE might be able to help?
Here are my issues so far with each of them which have put me off.
Virgin Media: Cable my whole road except my block and refuse to install so they are not an option.
BT: £23/month for the basic fibre seems quite expensive, the £125 Sainsburys voucher would be nice. I have heard that the support department is shipped out to India and generally not very helpful. Expensive line rental.
TalkTalk: You hear a lot of horror stories about TalkTalk, especially the customer service. When playing PS4 at the weekend the one guy who was causing us all to lag happened to be on TT of course!
Plusnet: Very good price but read that it can take a long time to get through to CS and that technicolor router looks cheap! Also Modem + Router means 2 sockets and I don't really want to give the other up, any idea if they are going to join the modern world and offer an all in one solution anytime soon? Seeing as they are owned by BT it can't be that hard right?
Zen: Seem to be the most expensive but have good reviews, do I really want to pay that much?
EE: Not a mobile customer with EE, looks quite expensive for non customers.
Any suggestions on my worries for each provider would be welcome.
Thanks.

Have you considered Tesco ?
They now have line rental saver (works out at £11.50/month), but I found out today, thanks to a post on here, that they only offer it after a year with them. Inclusive calls are £5 and line rental £5.40, just like Sky, but you get broadband for £2 or free if you are a Tesco mobile or bank customer. (Topcashback £35.35, at the moment , but a £6 fee for the modem.)
Someone posted that she had been refused the free broadband and line rental saver combination, so has left, but the call centre person I spoke to was unable to confirm this; just that line rental saver is for existing customers only..0 -
Router looks cheap you can always buy a nice looking router .like an Asus .Modem and a separate router is far more flexible .
I never had a problem contacting PN CS and they have an active forum .
TT not if you paid me .
Zen nearly always come out top on customer reviews but you pay the true cost .
