Management fee request from Italian rental company
Comments

Hi all,
I am wondering how this case ended? Reason why: I received also an email. The case was in 2010. I paid for the traffic Violation in 2010. And now the rental Company is asking for the handling fee (after 5 years!).
What is the Limitation period for this?
Is it enough when the Company sends an email? Is this legally binding?
Thank you for any Response!

exactly!

But I would still like to know if someone has an idea about the answer to my questions from #12?
Acutually in the moment I do also tend to do nothing....with regard to their "Management fee"...0 -

I wouldn't pay for the simple reason that the admin charge is extortionate (or even immoral, Deep).
Let them take it further but watch your credit card statement in casse they retained the details on file from when you hired the car.0 -
Actually I was wondering anyhow why they did not take it directly from the credit card...0

It's been so long you've probably had a new card since then.
People who know about these things assure us that, where an appropriate authorisation is in place, a merchant can still charge against an expired or replaced card, but I've never known it happen. I've often had merchants chase me for new card details when the existing one has expired, and I've even reported cards lost as a trick to foil unscrupulous merchants who fail to stop collecting a CCM when requested. It's always worked.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Are you sure the "claim" is not a scam e-mail? I'm sure we all receive e-mails claiming to be from Companies, HMRC etc with what looks like credible references.Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0
