What was the last fast food you had?

  • DH and I are vegan, so our choice in fast food is limited, but we do have Indian takeaway about once a month. We don't bother with Chinese anymore as it's so much better homemade (though we do buy the premade veggie spring rolls from Tesco). We also rarely buy chips from a chip shop as we prefer homemade oven chips instead.

I have a real weakness for falafels, and DH for batata hara (like a falafel but with fried potatoes instead of falafel balls), and we treat ourselves every few weeks to this (only a fiver for both, so doesn't blow the budget). Occasionally we buy pre-made hoummus, the organic M&S one is really nice.

We make our own deep-fried veggie "fish" as a treat, and HM made pizza almost every week; those are two things that aren't available in vegan versions as takeaway anyway.

Took DS to Subway yesterday (his fave) and had a meatball marinara sub - it was yummy but too expensive to do too often. Fish and chips is probably better value for money.

Last food I ate was on 21st March & it was chicken tikka massala before starting lighterlife diet! Since then have had milkshakes & soups only but have lost nearly 4 stone!! REALLY looking forward to food again though!!

We had an Indian takeaway about a fortnight ago (I go for a drink after work on a friday and then can't be bothered cooking).
It was beyond rank. The bhaji was yum, naan was good but the lamb dupiaza turned my stomach. I found a tube of some sorts going through a piece of the lamb, i literally pulled it out like a piece of rubber tubing.
I am never going to eat anything like that again. Needless to say I came straight home from work on friday without a drop of booze and make an OS meal, no rubber intestines in meals for us!
sorry if i have made anyone nauseous by the way.

We get a take away prob about 3 times a month, maybe 4, usually when i'm not up to cooking, or we've not got much to cobble together for a decent meal.

We get fish and chips, Chinese (always eat leftovers next day for breakfast and snacks, lol), kebab or kfc.

We tried a takeaway pizza for OH's birthday-big mistake! The place has freshly made pizzas with locally sourced ingredients, but tasted rubbish for the £15 we spent on the pizza and extras! OH much prefers the ones we make at home and we turn our noses down at takeaway pizzas unless someone else is buying! I might have a few slices at Brownies/Guides on Monday before I set off to watch Harry Potter!

We went out to a carvery for a treat the other day, but that's not really fast food, is it?

Mine was a take away Indian - chicken vindaloo (yes the very hot one), and pilau rice. About a month ago. :)
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.
  • I have never bought ready meals but I do like the odd takeaway - yesterday I had Subway tuna, cheese, lettuce, red onion and loads of olives on toasted herb bread which was just lovely and last night I took DD2 and her little friend to Southport to see Hairspray (which was FANTASTIC btw) and afterwards we ate in Nandos, which we really like.
