  • Late posting today. Decided to go to Aldi and get my £2.99 back for the disgusting chicken I had ro throw away.

Big mistake ended up spending £30 mind you I will not need meat in the forseeable future. To compound it I needed golden syrup from Tesco, picked up one of their loin of pork roasting joints for £8 I have cut it up into 2 roasting joints 2 pork loin steaks and the scrag end will be casseroled with some beans to make prok and bean casserole.

I'm looking after mum's dog this week, it's a tight squeeze in the utility but they are happy. Have taken 2 out for a walk this morning as I just don't have the time to walk them all today later. I'll have enough time to take the other one out when I get back from the animal sanctuary. Big dog managed to burst a blood vessel in the palm of my and with all her pulling yesterday, so some lead training is a must this week.
I've started wearing a webbing belt (one that came free with a pair of Mr LW's jeans but he doesn't use the belt) and threading it through the dogs' leads before fastening it. That way, if they pull, they don't drag the lead out of my hands. And I have my little pouch of poo-bags attached to the belt, too.:o

Will do a wash tonight too, I had new bedding on the bed last night and I must say how much I love new bedding ! it was a real luxury, I wish I could have it every night :rotfl:
I was about to say "me too" then I realised you were talking about new bedding.:p:rotfl:

Molly I think there must be some cold-type lurgy about; Mr LW was sneezing his head off last night. And when he sneezes, he doesn't do half-measures, he'll go on for 10 or 15 minutes.

  • LW We have actually found somewhere I'm happy to leave Oz. A pet hotel! They are set up in rooms to look like normal home rooms - Ozzie had a couple of companions but all carefully introduced. He didnt want to come home:(

We had a wonderful weekend at the Duxford Airshow for our 10th wedding anniversary. It was lovely to be able to enjoy it without worrying how he was.

  • Has anyone ever knitted a patchwork quilt or blanket? I would love to sew one but don't have a sewing machine or even know how to use one, so I was thinking of knitting granny style blanket squares then I assume I would need to pad it and back it?

LW - do you have a doggy visitor at the moment and many lined up for the next few weeks?

Judi - biggest hugs for you x

Caz - That sounds really nasty, I hope you are better soon x

Mrs LW - have a lovely time with the zebra child x

    Time for more cough medicine!

I am so pleased.:T I was only last night wondering how he was faring, after his unpleasant experience with that dog on his walkies.:o

I'm without dogs at present; it just wouldn't be practical to have canine guests with workmen traipsing all over the bungalow. Gods, I shall be glad when it's all finished!!

  • Afternoon all,

Haven't read the thread just yet but will go back and have a nose in a moment.
Hugs to the poorly ones out there!

The weather is getting very chilly now especially in the mornings, was so tempted to pop the heating on but DD was already dressed without complaining. Expecting our fuel bill within the next couple of weeks- Fingers crossed there!

Home from work early so i have managed to do more housework than usual. Full clean of the main bathroom, empty and cleaned both main bins, dusted the living room and swept the downstairs. Mum doing school run so will go and hoover upstairs in a moment...ooo and i have changed/washed bathroom towels.

Really need to defrost my freezer! So i have made up a meal plan this week that will begin to empty it. DD will have fish fingers,i will finish up the goat cheese tart-Hm frozen mash and homegrown frozen runner beans.

    Right then...better get on :)
Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon and evening x
  • Afternoon all :)

Hugs to poorlies and those having emotional times too xx

Warm day here so 3 lots of washing done and the most mammoth house hoover/dust/polish/wash etc!!

Had a flaming row with DH over the weekend and although we patched it up we both still feel a bit sour about it all

Making a lovely chicken casserole on the hob, new oven coming tomorrow :T

Also made a ginger and lemon drink which is apparently good for aching joints, I hope so as these chilly nights get into DH and my bones!

Have a lovely day all xx
  • Not had a chance to read all the posts yet.

Worked first thing and then have been to a funeral. Although they are very sad occasions, personally I think they are great social events and where you find out a lot about the missed person and their family. (In a good way).
The food was courtesy of Sainsbury's catering and was very nice :)

Makes you appreciate all that you have.

It helped that the sun shone too.

Have a good evening all :)

LW & Judi, behave, lol, I spat water over my keyboard, I'm suffering too, it's a bit sparse round here when hubby is on lates, which is usually every third week, but because of staff shortages he's on lates at least 2 weeks on the trot!
I got home to find my washing on the line was dry, so I've got it in, off to babysit now whilst the parents go to an open evening.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
