Hot weather, or lack of it. Compared to the rest of the site, it's quite friendly on techie.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

I havnt seen many slanging matches0 -
Its called opinion.....some people might not agree on yours, or go off on one and have a rant.....rather like the the thread on stopping my father from gambling......it went off on another tangent..instead of answering the question, a lot of repies where aimed at the poor guy who needs help with his addiction.......Not the answer the op was looking for.....
So people started having a bit of a go with each other...in a nice sort of way.
I have nothing better to do!!!!

Don't think you're talking about the same thing as the OP, I think he was probably referring to actual "slanging matches" with posts making personal remarks and insults (eg "massive problem" thread). That's hardly a legitimate "opinion" for the rules of this forum."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Well personally I've always refrained from making any kind of personal attack, even in retaliation. I'd rather stick to the spirit of forum etiquette and it should actually be easier to stop knee jerk reaction comments when you have time to type it up for a forum rather than a verbal argument. It constantly amazes me at how immature people can be even when they're actually older than me. Wisdom and humility doesn't always come with age I guess."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Most probably some small minded people trying oneupmanship all the time.:rolleyes:You can always get more with a kind word and a 2-by-4 than with just a kind word.0

Where's the "massive problem" thread? I want to read some insults
Found it, great thread. Funny reading."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

I think it fizzled out before it got too far but not quite what I'd call "people started having a bit of a go with each other...in a nice sort of way" in the gambling thread which was more a genuine disagreement about what is relevant to the techie board rather than many personal digs at each other."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

So there wasn't a " massive problem thread"

"massive problem..." was referring to the actual title of the thread and it still exists, I couldn't be bothered looking for it and copying link. Wolfman seemed to find it ok."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
