Actually, this might help ... it's amazing what a quick google throws up ;)

    https://mobile.twitter.com/suttonimages/status/425694027259080704

I was a bit suspicious initially, but the website of Everything Apple Ltd (everyapple.co.uk) is registered to the same address as Repair Star operated from (and it's website was registered to).
The registered address is the same too, but they now have a new trading address and phone number. Details in their website.

Maybe worth giving them a call and see if they play ball? Especially if Stuart is a good as those twitterers claim (and he proves to be the man). You can probably find his full name if he is the director. (Edit: yes it is, but he was terminated as a director 18 Aug 2014)

Remember it's the individual that is liable, not Everything Apple Ltd, but it might lead you to the individual.

    Good luck! :)

Edit: I think you are going to need that luck!

If you put his full name into google, followed by Northampton, the first 3 entries that come up are not good  (Reminds me of the Moxy character in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet)
It could be a different person, but he was 20 in 2004 and the former director is 30 today, so a heck of a coincidence if they are different people ;)
Anyway, next entry gives you an alternative address for the former director, presumably his residential address. (no idea if it's still valid, but it looks like it's on 192 too)

There is no such thing as a 'non-limited company'.

Oh yes there is, and indeed this site used to be one before it was bought out. They are very rare though as most shareholders want to limit their liability.

See http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/about/gbhtml/gp1.shtml and youll see the definition
Private unlimited company: An unlimited company may or may not have a share capital but there is no limit to the members' liability

To answer the direct question, Companies House maintains the registery of all companies, limited and unlimited, but the data available on unlimited companies is much less (hence why Martin changed his company into an unlimited one)

That said, I am not convinced that we are actually talking about an unlimited and the OP was miss using the term and actually means a sole trader or such.
  • Where in the Companies House website should I look, nothing came up in the WebCheck section?

That was the correct place, so presume it isn't listed.

Change of address for Everything Apple Ltd is registered as at 20/09.

Stuart is still listed as one of the Owners of the Everything Apple Ltd (1/3rd share), that hasn't changed even though he is no longer a Director.

  • I've spoken to the manager of Everything Apple Ltd, who wasn't very helpful, she doesn't have any contact details for Stuart or know anything about Repair Star. Steven the Director was a little more helpful, he said he'd pass on my details the next time Stuart popped in - that was 2 weeks ago. Northampton County Council can't provide any details on Repair Star due to the Data Protection Act. I've contacted the Citizens Advice consumer service who will pass the information on to Trading Standards.
