Is there a register of Non Limited Companies anywhere? I need to contact the owners or directors of a business which has stopped trading, as I haven't received my goods. Company House only deals with Limited companies, any ideas? The company is called 'Repair Star' and is based in Northampton.
thanks.
thanks.

In terms of contacting them, try visiting the address - if you are able. If not, I'd suggest going to Citizens Advice and seeing if they can help.
It may also be prudent to let the local Trading Standards office know - if there are similar complaints, more likely to take action.0 -
Details on their website? How did you contact them before?
The problem is anyone can start a company and end it just as quickly.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Actually, if they are not limited, it might be easier to get money off them.
I worked with a client who went bust owing me £4k. He just dissolved the company and started up again. And went bust. Again.
If the firm concern is run on a sole trader basis, the owner is liable for any debt and I believe that if he has to sell his car, house etc to pay that debt, so be it.0 -
There is no such thing as a 'non-limited company'.
The other way to run a business is as a 'sole trader' where the business and the person are exactly the same thing. Therefore of the business owes you money, then its a tually the individual that owes you money.
You need to find iut the details of the induvudual involved and bring an action against him.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -

Agreed.....Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Likely to be sole trader and not a Company. Thus it is the person you need to trace. They will be personably responsible for any debts even if they have said that they have stopped trading.0

How do I go about tracking the person who owns the company down? Their website, phone numbers and email addresses no longer work and they are no longer at their registered address. Is there a business register similar to company house I can serach?0

Too late now. You can't. (Unless you have something that declares it, such an an invoice)
These are questions you should have asked before you let them have your hard earned cash (or goods)0 -
