Are you sure this is a house and not a library? ;) It does feel a little "empty" .

For me it looks good but it's cluttered and obviously very personal

Well, there you have it in a nutshell!

Some people find it hard to imagine themselves living in anything other than a very similar house to the one they own, so anything slightly distinctive, like this, may worry them.

There's a good amount of room which might attract some, especially those looking for granny annexe possibilities, but in this case it doesn't look as if that would be easy or cheap to do unless those garages are cavity walled. It's not a B&B either.

Others relocating to the country will look for plenty of outside space, but again, the outdoor aspects aren't emphasised, so I guess we're looking at 1/5 acre or thereabouts. Not enough for a pony, or even free range chickens.

OP, your house is fine, but it's in a village like the one I live in, and there's a limited market for 'nice' houses in places like this. We've had several on the market for over a year. When they've sold, it's been with a significant reduction.

Houses that sell quickly in the countryside offer 'lifestyle opportunities.' While I struggle to see what yours could offer in this regard, there are plenty of days when I'd swap with you!

    Yes, it probably is price.

broadband speeds look ok so must be the price!
  • Love it but not at that price :o
  • I agree with some of the other posters, the flow isn't there. If you show a room with more than one picture, ensure they are next to each other and ideally take people through a virtual tour with the house. I.e. follow the floor plan in terms of room flow & picture order. Also the fireplace with the massive pipe looks weird - would put me off - maybe try a different angle where the ceiling doesn't look so expensive-to-heat-high.
  • What a fabulous place, and great to see someone who loves books

Frankly indigo, I LOVE it. It's quirky and unique and right up my street! BUT (here's the negative bit,) I think it may be overpriced. It's a lovely house, and I do like Wales...but... I don't think homes in some parts of Wales are very valuable, and a house in Cheshire or Shropshire or Oxfordshire for example, like yours, would be worth £400K to £450K, but in North Wales, properties are worth less for some reason.

Maybe it's the poor and slow transport links to major towns and cities, and the fact it takes ages to get anywhere, and the lack of employment opportunities and high paid jobs? But houses in much of Wales do not have such a high price tag as many other places.

I would think your home - as nice as it is - should probably be priced quite a bit lower. I would suggest under £350K.

Actually there are two other properties same size but one has just a lawn, not a developed garden, that is on at £460k and the one most similar to mine is on at £425k.

Er, am I missing something? I was expecting something really unusual and all I'm seeing is a very pleasant but very ordinary looking property. If it isn't even getting viewings then it is because it is overpriced. It's always the price.

Nope, from looking at their past posts they just really like to advertise that Bluetooth speaker.

I think there are a lot of very nice houses within a 5 mile radius.

Many of which have been on the market for some time (Some even over a year).

The area represents great value but sadly great value often means a slower market as demand is not so great.

You may find, give it 3 or 4 months with one agent.

Then take it off and put it with another agent with fresh photo's etc change a few things.
