Yes, it does ... read again.
The law strictly stipulates any flights TO or FROM Israel can be cancelled within 14 days, so if you fly from England to South Africa via Israel you CAN actually cancel the flight you purchased within 14 days.

This is especially a good deal when you book a flight 1 month in advance and get a good price and then after a week or so find another bargain, so with no questions asked, and nothing to prove (no need for a letter from your doctor) - you CAN cancel all the flights even if you are not an Israeli citizen nor resident!

That's the Israeli law, British Airways is not above it, so the customer got more benefits when it comes to such flights ... I know that many people dislike this country for what happened(s) in Gaza but as one that has both Muslim and Jewish friends I can tell you that the media is not showing many things ... there are lots of good things and bad things about this country, the fact it allows you to do that is just a benefit ... now whether someone wants to use this benefit is up to him/her ... if people are scared to fly there because of security situations I can tell you I've been doing it countless times including during dangerous times and nothing happened (and wishing the same for everyone in all places around the world) ... in fact I think flying to/from Malaysia is much more risky nowadays ... or through the border of Russia/Ukraine ... hopefully such accidents will never occur again...

Guys... you either play it fool or have a serious reading comprehension problem.

The example I brought was of someone who used Israel as connection between London and Johannesburg.

By the way, the flights to/from Israel are very much cheap on late Friday and Saturday because that is a sacred day (known as "shabbat") for many Jews and they don't fly during this day, so if you book a flight during this day you might find a very good bargain.

So whilst I wasn't concentrating on dinosaurs or trying ot make a mockery out of something serious that can actually and truly SAVE YOU MONEY - I hope you appreciate the fact this is a "Money Saving" forum and not a library about dinosaurs...

Jumper you seem to be losing the plot a bit here. The Flyertalk link basically says they don't know in which circumstances the regs would apply. The haaretz link is about delays and cancellations by the airline. The BA link refers to tickets purchased by an individual in Israel, which we are not.

No information presented by you gives rights to those booking outside the Israeli jurisdiction.

Oh, I see what you mean now ... BA states you have to be "in Israel" ... yup, I confirmed it with someone - yes, you're right:

I have looked at the law, I can't find an English version but see it here in Hebrew:

It clearly states any flight FROM or TO Israel is included, so by law even an individual "IN UK" ordering a flight TO Israel and BACK from Israel is entitled for a full refund ... same applies for one buying a connection e.g. from London to Tel Aviv and from Tel Aviv to Johannesburg and then same route backwards!

I haven't tried it myself, but hypothetically speaking, if you purchase it from an Israeli based travel agent then you're protected under the Israeli law because it's an Israeli product you're buying. That's what the article is saying anyway in regards to those living OUTSIDE of Israel.
