Euro Car Parks Charge...

Options
Last month i parked in meadowbank retail park in Edinburgh. Just today got a letter from EuroCar Parks saying i was parked longer than the maximum period allowed. In all honesty, i have never seen such signs, so i looked today and right enough there are. The letter states i have not responded to the first letter, this is the first letter i received!
Now the balance due is £70 and if not paid in 28 days it is going to a debt agency. I tried ringing today, but no reply.

The question is,do i pay? Is it enforcable? So annoyed at myself and dont have £70 to pay anyone :(

  • Do NOT ring them. Read the newbies thread in the parking forum and follow the advice there

You need to take all this to the parking fines forum.

This was Scotland. Unless this is a company car (which I am doubting, as you have received an NtK) then simply ignore them completely - in Scotland they can ONLY pursue the driver; if you don't tell them who was the driver* then they can't pursue the keeper.

    * The simplest way to do this is to ignore them completely. If you don't communicate with them you can't accidentally tell them. ;)

You were on the wrong forum. Now your thread has been moved to this parking tickets sub-board, so just read the top thread here and/or search this forum board for 'Scotland'. This is easy, it's not difficult advice, the simplest answer is right there at the top of this forum about Scotland and NI cases, in the Newbies thread.

And search Google for 'Scotland private parking Dundee Courier' to read more.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • Thanks. Had a look. Hubbie is concerned tho because the vehicle is actually a motability car and although we pay for it each month, we hand it back next year.

Where do we stand now? To we treat the car as a hire car and if so euro car parks already have my information from the DVLA. The letter addressed even states miss xxxxx (as it's hubbies sister that disabled) c/o motability finance ltd.

Do I contact them and tell them not to get involved? Yes I am asking a stupid question. I realise but I'm not grasping everything on the newbies page

What did the letter actually say? Did it say you (he) had been identified by Motability? (If yes then Motability are out of the picture anyway; if no then the PPC already know to write to you/him).

    Regardless, just ignore them.

It's addressed to the sister, as I guess she's disabled and for her use her money pays for it, but it doesn't mention me or my partner by name. It states "your vehicle was parked longer than the maximum period allowed. The driver has failed to pay the notice amount within the time specified. Therefore the amount due has now increased."

PS the letter is called notice to owner.

Ignore them, this will not go further than letters with red highlighted , and then onto powerless debt collectors who threaten loads of things, but can't do anything
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
