  • A tad harsh.

While it may or may not be the truth in this case contraceptive methods don't guarantee 100% success.

Try a Red Setter that sleeps on the bed in the middle, seems to be 100% effective to me.

  • Thanks for the responses everybody. Even those who have judged me as some kind of weasel who dares get him missus up the stick have at least provided some information.

In my blind panic I actually posted inaccurate information. The protect my bubble insurance was an annual European cover for a number of city breaks we have had. I actually used the money saving expert guide when purchasing this insurance and it seemed to fit my needs but clearly some people think I was silly to do so . I would genuinely be interested to hear why this was a bad idea.

When my wife purchased the US trip she took out travel insurance specifically for the trip with LV as our annual policy was Europe only.

I've not had chance to review the policy as yet. Your thoughts as to whether this will make a difference would be appreciated.

Further snidey comments or judgements on me as a person would be less appreciated.

Nobody will know if it makes a difference until you actually read what the policy covers, although pregnancy, unexpected or not, is usually not a valid reason to cancel.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Is it just me thinking you bought the policy after booking the flights, THEN found out about the pregnancy?

Isn't this what insurance is for? To cover the unexpected?

Our "happy accident" occurred after we'd booked flights to NZ - I rang to tell the insurer I'd be 11 weeks pregnant now when we flew. They added it to the notes. We were still covered and also for pregnancy related issues that may occur in NZ as we'd not been pregnant at the time of booking.

Check your policy and see what it says. If you can't fly as there is now a change in circumstance, it's only your policy that will tell you if you're covered for cancellation or not.
