    House buying and selling is stressful for a reason. The trick is to remain businesslike and unemotional. They were not criticising you personally, just making sure their house was up to modern standards.

    This is so easy to forget but excellent advice. It is very stressful - particularly for first time buyers. On my mother's house the first time buyer sent through a snag list! It was a 60 year old house!! I think the young couple had been reading advice for new builds. They wanted chipped tiles replaced, a wall repainted, a new oven (!!!) and a roof tile replaced because it was the wrong shade!! They also wanted the patio relayed. We politely said no.
