    What's the big deal?

I get leaflets for the local Poundsaver, Aldi and Lidl, but always shop at Tesco.

Almost every week, someone knocks at my door and offers to clean my monobloc drive, trim my trees, or repaint my windows, even though I've shown no interest in them prior.

The local church leaves me their newsletter, but I don't follow their faith.

    etc., etc.
  • The deal is that you don't have a contract with any of these. When you walk out of Poundsaver with your week's shopping, you don't expect the 99p Store manager to suggest you put the goods back and shop there instead, telling you that Poundsaver is a terrible store (which it is).

The fact you have a contract with somebody else makes the leafletting, if anything, more pointless. It doesn't make it any more or less intrusive than any other irrelevant leaflet.

    Cannot see the problem myself.

... But the OP can ignore the EA business card as easily as I ignore the Aldi leaflet, can't he?
  • We got loads of letters from rival EAs hinting they had queues of buyers unknown to our agent. Presumably buyers without internet access and with an inability to do a simple search on Rightmove. Buyers who loved that agent so much they refuse to buy a house through anyone else. Buyers who would happily offer more than full asking price if only we would swap agents. Well, you get the idea.
    Been away for a while.
