Hi
I'm with Tesco. My term ends 18th Sept. I'm thinking of going for the EE deal. Can I sign up now or do I have to wait until after 18th?
Do I need to give notice to tesco? It doesn't say that in their t&cs...
Many thanks

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!
I am also with Tesco and have been for the past year, who have been absolutely brilliant even though I wanted to leave them. My contract with Tesco is up on the 23rd September and I opted to go to EE because I thought I was getting a good deal with the "Amazon Voucher deal" and paying up front for line rental saving me nearly £5 a month as well.
I have had nothing but trouble with EE. Their customer service is terrible. I have spent £'s and £'s in phone calls to their New Line Provider Team because you can't email them direct and the so called "Customer Help Desk/Services" refuse to pass messages on.
My problem has been with getting my existing landline number ported over. They have made four attempts to do this and it is being rejected. They are blaiming Tesco for blocking my transfer when it is in fact BT because my telephone number used to be with BT many years ago. Of the four failed attempts so far EE has not told me about any of them it has been Tesco who have advised me. I have had to chase EE constantly ringing an expensive telephone number and waiting for up to an hour at some points because there is no other quick way to contact them. I have been lied to twice telling me it would be sorted when actually the staff member after making false promises (probably to get me of the line) did nothing a tall about sorting the problem.
I am just waiting for one last response to a query I have with Tesco which I expect to receive any minute now because they are so good and then I will be telling EE where to go!!!!! I only hope Tesco will let me stay now I have been a traitor trying to go over to the other side. Serves me right doesn't it if they refuse but I don't think they will.
As for you leaving Tesco before the 18th. If it is in the last month of your contract you won't incur any penalties. That's what Tesco told me for my account. You will of course have to contact Tesco yourself to find out how you stand with your account.

Further to my last post I have just cancelled going over to EE and I am now staying with Tesco.
I hope your change over is not as bad as mine was.0 -
Oh dear. I did the deed before I read above.
I hope I don't regret switching.
The trouble with staying with tesco is that they won't allow line rental saver with the free broadband offer.0 -
Since you are still in the cooling-off period after 3 days, you can cancel if you wish.No free lunch, and no free laptop
