Vent about Expedia's hotel review process

So, last week I submitted a review of a hotel I stayed at recently. It was very negative, but entirely based on facts.
It keeps being rejected, so I've gone through all of their guidelines and my review doesn't infringe any of them.
So clearly yet another case of websites censoring negative reviews

Reviews don't have to be accepted. Companies can be very clever on reasons to block a review. Anything very negative has a good chance of being blocked. Especially on a travel site which gets money for people to buy holidays from. They're not going to say one of the hotels available on the site is rubbish.

Use tripadvisor. They have no commercial interest (apart from referral fees) so you can be as critical as you like.

The hotel was the Maldron in Wexford.
Someone on our floor was smoking marijuana, our room smelt of it, the hallways were full of the smell, the staff did absolutely nothing...

I left a review on tripadvisor, and it was published without any issue.
I just think it takes the pee to provide the option to review a hotel then not publish the negative ones. Why not just not do reviews in the first place!

Why? TripAdvisor had no problems at all with the review. It was Expedia who blocked the review.

Reading the reviews on tripadviser I wonder if there are a lot of fake reviews of that hotel.

There seems to be a discrepancy between some people saying it's really bad and an awful lot of one post good reviews.

Its probably because you are mostly commenting on the clientele that night. Its a bit like saying you couldnt sleep as someone rowdy kept waking you up. Yes it impacts your night but its not something the hotel is always in control of (unlike say clanky pipes)

The attitude of the staff was the issue.
They genuinely couldn't have cared less. There was no offer to move rooms etc. or even deal with the people in question. They were just like "they're not doing it in the hallways so there's nothing we can do".
The issue is, if they're letting people get away with it, how often would it occur.
The member of staff on duty just looked at me blankly when I informed him, then I had to press him to do anything, and it turns out what he did was ignore it.
It was blatantly obvious which room it was, the staff just didn't want to deal with it.
