Agreed. However, if they do it in a Council space they get fined, if they do it on private land they get off scot free. I am struggling to see the justice in that.

With a council ticket they generally stick to the law, private parking companies don't.

Can you point me too a post here or on PPP were someone has defended the right of an individual who has abused a disabled bay?

Delete the words "the right of" and there are many.

In fact they are normally well chastised before being helped to defend an unfair penalty for doing so.

What is "it", though? Disabled bays on highways and in council car parks are established under, ultimately, statute law with checks and balances applying to their enforcement.
Disabled bays in private car parks, if they mean anything, are there to fulfil the obligation for service providers to make "reasonable adjustments" under the Equality Act.
Many of the people who come here having received a parking charge for such a bay were actually entitled to use it. It's evident that the PPCs use these bays merely for profit, not to help the people that need them.
The approach of this forum is right, imo, as the long term aim must be a system that is fairer and based on helping people not farming them for cash.

I think you will find many defending the paying of a penalty, I think you will find it hard to find one were anyone defends the right to use one without being disabled (notice I didn't say a holder of a blue badge)

On this one I agree if nobody in the car is disabled with or without a blue badge, and park in a disabled bay I believe they deserve a fine. However it is difficult to see why a PPC should benefit from someone doing so.

Council one's are a bit different as everybody knows the rules or they should do, plus if you make a mistake most councils give you a one shot reprieve.

Councils cannot fine you! Only the courts can, you get a penalty only from councils and the police if you are caught. But there are cases where councils have been sued for breaches of the Equality Act on disabled bays where there is disabled bays, because even there they must comply to the Act
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

The answer would be to make disabled parking spots on private land the responsibility of councils. That way any money charged would go to the public purse not some grubby little PPC.

??? Are you sure about that ? I'm pretty sure the deregulation of parking means councils can fine you.

Fine, penalty, sanction, spot kick, whatever, how many angels can dance on a pinhead?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • @the Deep. There are many people on this site who help others to wise up to the scam of PPCs. You are not one them. Your posts go far beyond the position of devil's advocate and I fail to understand your reasoning for posting on this forum. BTW. I don't intend to enter into a slanging match with you and drag yet another thread off topic. So have at it all you want but keep it in an email to yourself.
