I've recently got into cycling and have ordered cycling tops and shorts from aliexpress which came to approx £15. Whilst they took about 3-4 weeks to arrive the quality was as good as what you'd buy from a UK shop but at a fraction of the price.

The only advise I can give is make sure you check the sizing as it is different from supplier to supplier.

could you post a link of the cycle tops, looking for some long sleeved ones and prices in shops are OTT
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

I've bought quite a few things from aliexpress, mainly craft items & had no problems but always check ebay for the same goods, as it's often cheaper from ebay.

i've had about 10 different orders so far and all have had a low value on the customs form even though some of the items were around £30 mark.

£15 is the limit over which you should pay import tax and handling. Many items get through though without a being charged.

Some have other name tags on and are not showing as 'Kippling' on the rubber round plate on the front.

If you like the style and just want a cheap bag then why not - lots have Chinese names so are not trying to be a Kipling 'fake'. Here is one for under £6.

They have weekend and daily deals on the home page.

  • I've been buying from Aliexpress/Alibaba for several years for both business stock and personal use, so thought my experience might be useful:

    * when it comes to import tax/customs, if the items you have purchased are sent via China or Hong Kong Mail and are of relatively low value then you will have little to worry about. They will, however, take a while to arrive. If, however, a seller is offering to send you goods via a courier like DHL then you are much more likely to have to pay customs/taxes to get them delivered to you. It doesn't always happen, but the chances are much higher. Some couriers demand money on the doorstep when delivering, and some will send you a letter with a bill to pay before they will release the goods. As well as the tax/customs, the courier will also charge a handling fee which doesn't necessarily equate to the price you have paid for the goods (£15 for a small parcel was the last charge I paid). On the plus side, you'll usually get the goods within a week.

    * unbranded goods are usually fine from Aliexpress (although not entirely sure I'd put anything in my mouth or on my skin without careful consideration!). However, do beware that ALMOST ALL branded goods for sale on there are fakes. This is particularly true in the clothing and accessories categories - all the handbags are fake copies, and I've seen fake Converse trainers, fake replica cycling kits and fake Calvin Klein boxers on the site recently too. If any of these are intercepted by customs they will be confiscated and you'll then have to fight with Aliexpress to get a refund.

I do agree that the scarves are great value - I buy them to give away as free gifts on multiple purchases from my website and often end up keeping several for myself!
