I think you just have to be sensible about it - check out the feedback etc., just as you would with ebay. I've bought a number of items from China over the years and most have been great. I found a youtube video a while ago where this girl went through 15 things she'd bought from the site. Overall, most were ok and she was happy with them.

I bought a bag from this site a couple of months ago and had no problems with that.

The problem with aliexpress is the payment method. You use their own escrow system which claims to protect you, but when you actually try and claim due to non arrival they ignore you. Just be careful.

Done a few orders, fairly small stuff, some patches, a swimming costume, some stuffed dolls (Frozen) and so far so good.

Had a really nice bag for.under £8 and have another on order, they take about 17 days to come. A cheap way to treat yourself compared to what we sometimes end up paying otherwise.

I got myself a pre payment card and only load ten pounds at a time. Will only order low value items but what I have had I am pleased with.

Just ordered one of the shawl scarves, look lovely.

I've used aliexpress now on about 15 occasions, mostly small bits like jewellery & phone cases. Only issue I had was a dress was sent the wrong size, but I didn't bother to chase it up as it was so cheap I sold it on for a profit anyway
