Ikea kitchen hell - review

We have had ridiculously poor service from the delivery side of Ikea but love their products. We are buying our new kitchen from them, but instead of relying on their delivery and all of the weeks of stress and repeated trips back and forth to the store, we are hiring a van and picking and transporting it ourselves.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

email the CEO, Peter agnefjall (his email is on google) my sister did after she had numerous issued with laminate doors bubbling and her worktop lifting, Ikea initially came out and said it was because her worktop was next to the sink :rotfl:
she emailed a jovial letter to Peter listing her issues, received an almost instant reply from his team and got all her issues resolved with an appology.
if cannot hurt

We also bought a new kitchen from Ikea (Lakeside) earlier this year and had a similar experience to the OP, although the total amount of financial loss is probably smaller.
We listed all our complaints and a detailed breakdown of where we had incurred extra costs because of them delivering faulty goods (and in many cases the replacements were faulty too). The expenses included extra fitters' time, loss of enjoyment of our house, time off work - all the usual. We sent this by recorded delivery to their Head Office. We received no reply - not even an acknowledgement. We sent the same thing again by recorded delivery a few weeks later but still nothing.
I am wondering if we should now start a small claims action.
However, having read this thread, perhaps an email to Peter Agnefjall is worth a try first.0 -
I am currently having a kitchen from IKEA fitted, we ordered it, then it was delivered 10 days later (the day we requested). We had a slight problem with the work top (not the correct size or something) however it was all sorted strait away and they were extremely helpful.0

We bought an Ikea kitchen about 10 years ago (in a different house) and were pleased enough with the results, which is why we went back to Ikea this time.
The last time we had some delays with the worktops but nothing terribly major (mainly caused by their then delivery company) and Ikea gave us some compensation. It wasn't much but it made up for the hassle a bit.
This time it was more serious with constantly being sent faulty items and items with necessary parts missing. The mistakes this time resulted in significant costs and time, so we'll not let just let it go so easily.
The trouble is that when one part of the chain breaks down it can have serious knock on effects for the entire project. And that was what happened this time because of Ikea's failure to deliver goods fit for purpose on time.
If we don't get some response from them soon, then I think we'll have to raise a small claims action against them. It's a pity they don't have a customer service employee monitoring this forum.0
