I want to buy a tablet for my 4yr old daughter. I've just been to PC world where the cheapest was a Lenova 8inch for £129.99 or 10inch for £159.99. This was a vast price differential to the apple and Samsung products but baring in mind it's only going to be used for kids apps etc is there any reason this product wouldn't be as fit for purpose as the more expensive brands?

I've had good experiences with 7" tablets from Samsung and Tesco's Hudl.
I haven't used Lenovo tablets, but Lenovo is a major brand, which used to be part of IBM.
On the other hand, a really cheap tablet I tried from a manufacturer I'd never heard of was rubbish, with very poor Wifi, so I think the no-name brands are best avoided. Some people call these products "landfill Android".0 -

I got a Kindle Fire for my little lad last Christmas, it does everything he wants it to - games, watching youtube, watching films etc. Might be worth looking at ?0

Sorry for sounding a bit thick here but do the Tesco Hudl and Kindle Fire have the simple kids apps available such as Babybus and the 'Princess dress up'/beauty salon games?0

Thanks for the link to the Tesco Hudl but that's 7inch. Is there any of these cheap brand simplistic models available with a slightly bigger screen?0

Looks like they are available on Amazon for the Kindle :

I know there are tons of free games for the Kindle, and lots of very cheap ones ( 69p ). I assume pretty much all games are available for all platforms. Sorry, I'm no expert on tablets, just going by the amount my lad downloads for nowt0 -
Hi
Take a look at link below, I have the 7" version of this and have had no problems with it at all. I have used the company for many years and would say that I cannot fault them in any way {ie price, quality or delivery}

Any tablet running Android will have access to the Google Play store, so the same apps.
Kindles are different, as you can only use Kindle-specific apps, so much less choice.
Hudl using a Clubcard Boost or Tesco Outlet is the obvious choice here unless you must have a ten inch device.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

As I mentioned earlier, I know very little about tablets. What are the limitations of a Hudl ? I ask because my wife is on about wanting a tablet for Christmas, and the Hudl seems a lot cheaper than the rest. Pleased though my lad is with his Kindle, if the Hudl will do everything 'er indoors wants, it's quite a bit cheaper.0
