Looking at another house

Hi,
We've had our offer accepted on one house. That was back in April and there have been lots of problems with the property that they're still fixing - so far as, it now isn't the house it was when we put in our offer.
So we're viewing a second house today - same agent. If we like it and put an offer in, do we wait for it to be accepted and then pull out of the first property?
Interested in the method - any MSE-ers had experience of this?
thanks in advance,

Then you can pull out at any time. If you don't like this house you are viewing today would you still want to go through with the previous one?
5 months is a long time from having an offer accepted and not exchanging contracts."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -

Yes, unless you have lost interest in the first house completely, even if your offer on the second house is declined."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0

Thanks. We like the first house, the second house looks good. The first house has had so many problems we're ok to wait to get fixed, and it's not the house we first saw - for example, it had room for 2 cars, now only 1. It had a secure garden, now it doesn't. It had opportunity to extend, now it doesn't.Business borrow WAS £12,000 Now £10,200 | House deposit WAS £20,000 Now £10,943.33 + £15,368.55 of Interest at 5%

What on earth have they done to the place? What have they also done that you know nothing about?0

They removed a tree at the first house as it was pushing over a wall. They replaced the wall with a single set of blocks, then a structural engineer said it wasn't strong enough, so instead of forking out for a thicker wall and underpinning, they formed a hill up to the house. That's why we can't easily extend.
Because they found that, they also did further digging and found that the ground floor walls are damp and there's problems with the roof.
So what was a nice detached house with secure garden, room for 2/3 cars and possibility to extend is now a damp detached house with an unsafe garden, room for 1 car, with still a lot of work to do.
What would you do?Business borrow WAS £12,000 Now £10,200 | House deposit WAS £20,000 Now £10,943.33 + £15,368.55 of Interest at 5%
