Honda Jazz Warranty Advice

  • This is a common problem and often an easy fix.

Honda recommend gear oil changes at 25k for city usage, using their own special ATF oil.

The problem for me was a previous owner thought she could save money taking it to the local tyre bay for servicing -they don't understand CVT Honda transmissions so didn't bother changing the gear oil.

The solution was a Honda main dealer fix to reface the cone clutch that becomes glazed. They did this and it was fine after that, but I sold it shortly afterwards. .Car was 2007 about 65k

It is very annoying but not in my opinion dangerous. There is plenty of info out there and it is a known fault. Honda jazz are pretty good cars all round - but they do like to be serviced.

I have heard of replacement gearboxes from Honda, but only if it has a full service history.
