Complaining to European Regulator

Hi
I have lodged a complaint to the Austrian regulator over a delayed Easyjet flight for which they have denied responsibility.
Can anyone advise how long to leave this before I chase - I did not even get an acknowledgement from Austria.
Any help appreciated
