I bought an under counter freezer from gumtree .I met the seller at a house he plugged it in and it made the right noise .So I bought it for £25 .
I gave it to a disabled man and he is delighted ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
I've bought LOADS of stuff off Gumtree, granted no white goods...... but (touch wood) I have NEVER had a problem with anything I've bought....... things that were cheap, I've never expected to be perfect, but then, that's why they're cheap....... you get what you pay for and with all the sites like this it is sadly buyer beware......0

You missed the years ago! No I am not to answer your question.0 -
I have had nothing but good experiences with gumtree. A lot of people post there to see if anyone can find a use for something they don't need,. and have no real interest in the money.[STRIKE]Less is more.[/STRIKE] No less is Less.0

OP quoted an 07899 number, searching this came up with a storage firm, in Wigan.
Think your money has long gone.
NEVER buy goods from strangers, in a car park- they could have stolen it!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

Full agreement! Rather than take an unwanted item to the dump, put it on Gumtree (at a nominal price, if it's free then dealers take it) and you can give it to the first person comes to buy it. Saves a journey to the tip and may well help someone.0 -

maybe that's where White Van Man got his? :rotfl:0 -

Freecycle and Freegle groups are also an option. We always offer unwanted or broken appliances there first. It is amazing what people have use for and can fix themselves. Saves stuff from going on landfill prematurely.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -
Gumtree messing cuts both ways, I have a white goods item listed at present, first caller asked me to keep it till Saturday, they couldn't come till then but definitely wanted it. Turned 2 other callers away, guess what, buyers no show!0

It's not just gumtree, for me if an item is for sale, 1st with the cash takes it away. I would have sold the item and contacted the 1st caller to tell them carry on looking. I bet they will contact later with a feisty offer.0
