Morphy Richards Soup Maker - Lidl

Just popped into my local Lidl and they had Morphy Richards soup makers for £39.99 for sale.

Advertised as:
  • Prepares delicious soup in less than 25 minutes
  • Simple, one-step operation with blend, chunky, smooth or juice settings
  • Large, 1.6L stainless steel jug serves up to 6 hungry mouths
  • RRP £99.99
  • 2 year manufacturer's warranty

No idea if its any good as I don't make enough soup to warrant buying one, but handy with winter coming for those who do.

Thank you :) I have been looking for one of these.
  • Are these good? Or just another kitchen clutterer? I use my slow cooker to make soup at the moment.
A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

    one life, live it!
  • These are excellent, I have a Morphy Richards one too and it's so easy to just pop veg in and within 20 minutes it's soup.

Other than the speed, are there any other advantages to having one of these. I make soup all the time in my slowcooker and just whizz it afterwards.

  • I totally love mine, bought it last year and it's one of my very favourite kitchen helpers. I'm going to buy another one as a back up (don't ever want to be without one, lol) and then I can make enough fresh soup for eight people in 21 mins.
Yesterday I chopped and peeled 4 carrots, 2 smallish sweet potatoes, diced half an onion and 2 garlic cloves, added a fistful of red lentils a little marmite, teaspoon of chilli powder and some black pepper and pressed smooth. Result was delicious :j
    So easy to use!
My tip is to put a little water in the bottom of the jug before your ingredients, it helps to stop anything sticking and makes for simple rinsing/cleaning.

I was having a look at these about a year ago, and there are loads of positive reviews on Amazon - soup makers seem to be really popular.

In my opinion they are just something else to clutter up the worktop.

I was bought one, used it once and then threw it away.

Nothing beats an old fashioned saucepan and then a hand blender or sometimes I make mine in the slow cooker aswell.

I seriously considered this but actually there are an awful lot of 1 and 2 star reviews on Amazon. I think I'll be getting the saucepan and blender out again this winter!
  • I just Lurve my soup maker.. A bag of soup mix from morrisons 65p and a stock pot makes lovely soup. I also use it to make curry sauce. Well used, so much so may have to buy another for back up.
