I have two differing manufacturers intervals for this engine.

    60,000 or 72 months

    or

    100.000 and 120 months.

However did the last belt change included tensioner and idlers?
  • Sorry, I have no idea, we have just had the van and going through the previous services etc., etc, there was just a bill for 'changing/fitting new cambelt'.

Does the invoice state when it was last done? And does it state "replace cambelt" or "cambelt kit".

Kit;s tend to refer to pulleys and tensioners.

Anyhoo, as already said, it's cheaper to have the cambelt kit installed than a new engine

iolanthe07, I was just trying to lighten things up, which it seemed to do.

    I'll shut up shall I

Yes, I know; but I really did think the OP might not know what a car manual is.

I'd change the drive belt. All you have is a piece of stationary claiming its been done.

Haha spelling. We all know it should be Manwell ;):o

No, the other "deliberate mistake" - which probably wasn't so deliberate really. Surprised Iolanthe didn't notice it when she was writing her last post (which doesn't quite make sense because of it) :D

Hopefully the belt doesn't go Fawlty before the OP has chance to get it changed.............

Are you sure? On the sleeve of my DVD it definitely reads "Manuel".

Do the service record mileages tie in with the current mileage. It seems very unlikely that a van would effectively sit idle for 7 years? They are usually bought as tools.
  • Afternoon All,

Checked the bill and is says cambelt kit. Cheers, Carol
