Sky Broadband offer

This ends on 11/9/14 (tomorrow) I think. The email from MSE suggests its available for everyone. However this is not the case. Its not available in Fort William. Similarly two weeks or so ago a free insulation offer from British Gas was trumpeted here which was not available in this area. (I phoned for it). This must occur all over Britain and NI and not just be a rural Scotland issue. Perhaps when these offers are widely distributed by email some check could be made to say if there are restrictions. At least state that if you're not in a major population area don't bother applying as the chances are you're wasting your time. Or am I just unlucky and no one else finds this an issue. Good luck to all who succeeded in applying.

Hello Simshaw2000, Thank you for the information however I don't have Sky TV. The offer was not available. The Sky website offered me telephone and Broadband but on their usual terms only.
Pincher - I'm not clear what point you are making. The income from these deals is the rental over the long tern, not the installation cost. Do you have information on how Sky fund these deals i.e. how the engineers are paid?
harty999 - ? are you saying Simshaw2000 is wrong and its only available if you have Sky TV?0 -
Tried to get this deal, I am eligible given my location etc... but the site give me this: (repeatedly and not just today)
"Unable to continue with your order
An error has occured
Unfortunately, we have been unable to proceed with your order. To continue by phone, please call 03442 411 818."
When calling, impossible to get connected. Not normally bothered, but if sky is only interested in generating buzz, fair enough, but why is this in Martin's email?
Anyway, am I an isolated incident or a Sky policy?0 -

A fully trained engineer who gets a fixed salary and final salary pension driving around in a company van and fuel paid for by an unlimited expense account, and who will do a job as long as it takes? Universal service obligation? Is the British Empire still running OK?
Lets say a guy in Stirling gets £50 a job, and he can fit four in a day locally, why would he go to Fort William?
A service engineer I knew in IT was hired to service "printers", and his patch was supposed to be North London. He is just too obliging and hardworking, and the company just kept enlarging his area. Obviously it was both north and south London first, then inside the M25. Finally, he had to drive to SOUTHAMPTON and got home around midnight: one job for that day. Had to get up around five next morning for another job, if he wants any chance of getting there, do the job, and get home before midnight. At least the company paid for the fuel, but it was his own car.
The lot of the working man is not a happy one, my very modern major general.0 -
I'm attempting to apply for this as existing Sky TV customer but it states the M&S voucher is for £25 not £100 !!(email sent but not sure I'll get a reply before the offer closes)0
