Nothing to do with the SIM type, but the network used. What one gives the best coverage? 3UK is the cheapest, so start there and work back!0

Check what cells there are near you. There is every chance that they will all be GSM apart from Three and there is no guarantee that will be close enough to work.

You could try the various providers coverage maps but they tend to lie. My son just bought a 6GB data sim from EE for his holiday based on their map. It doesn't even get a signal at all.0 -

Is it the cheapest? With the iPad, you should use a mobile broadband SIM.
Using PAYG, a 1GB/1 month SIM costs £8 and a 3GB/3 month SIM around £20.
EE is cheaper; 2GB/1 month for £8 or less. 6GB/3 months £15.0 -
A quick scoot around the coverage checkers shows EE has 3G coverage followed by Three.
Vodafone has only 2G and as you have found O2 (giffgaff) is also only 2G
I suggest getting a PAYG sim from EE & Three and finding out which is best for youThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

No point in paying for a mobile broadband SIM that carries no data.
I would start with the EE SIM because it's cheaper.
2GB £7.75
6GB £150
