    Hi again,

Just a quickie to say thank you for the support. We made a quick trip into town on the bus and back within an hour so it was manageable. I'm happy now I've got the bits I needed, my grandson is happy because he got to go on the bus and had some sweets, and I only heard one rude comment which wasn't great but better than usual.

My daughter will be finishing work in about 10 mins so I shall go and put the kettle on. Hope you all have a fabby day xx

Well done Dumpling.:T I have to go to the post box on the mobility buggy tomorrow afternoon, which I'm not looking forward to; I have no dogs to take with me, as the Hairy Hooligans went home this morning. I'll be ok as long as I don't meet anyone en route.
Camelot- my memory is appalling too. I'm constantly getting to the top of the stairs and the. Forgetting what I was going upstairs to get!
Ah yes, I'm familiar with having trouble with the Hereafter - as in "What the heck did I come in here after??":D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

jlhmd66 and jackieo, Celeriac and apple soup is delicious as well.

I've not tried celeriac before snoozer but I am willing to give it a go :) There's a nice one by Jamie Oliver here:

Next time I'm shopping I will pick up the ingredients :)

Today I'm going to make a recent favourite - MrsL's carrot & oatmeal soup. It had lots of thumbs up from my lot the last time I made it:

  • Afternoon, busy morning, we are going away in the caravan for its final trip before we put it up for sale. Its an old 2 berth but would be fine for anyone wanted to start caravaning and not spending too much money to see if they took to it.

So it has been washed outside and the inside cleaned, duvet covers put on, fleece blankets in. I now have to do a food list. I am taking food with us so do not need to go shopping.

Cooked some leg of lamb steaks to make curry, OH is going to try and see if he likes it. I will keep some on one side so if the answers no he can just have the lamb in sauce with rice.

    Afternoon.

Well done dumpling on getting out. Ignore the rude, shallow people out there.

Took the dogs out to a new forest that I discovered a few weeks ago. I'm slowly connecting the dots, but found some new paths I want to find out where they go. I'll park closer next time as it was quite a long walk to the new paths.

Mr t has been. Is it me or is the mr t drivers much more chatty than the a$da ones?

I'm doing housework in 15 minute bursts today, it's looking reasonable now. I'm washing the curtains at the front door as I've no other washing to do plus their filthy. I'm currently sunning myself in the sunbed. It's so hot and sunny today. Need to pop to the chemist for my prescription and go to school shop to chase up a t shirt I ordered and payed for over a week ago. I'll go just before the school run.

I was going to do some baking today but again I cba.:rotfl:

    NOT BUYING IT 2018!

Consumerism is.....buying things you don't need with money you don't have to impress people you don't know and probably wouldn't like even if you did know them.

Spent all morning in the garden, cleaned the greenhouse out and made another 12 briquettes for the stove.
No need for cardis yet :)

I want to sort out the cupboard in the front room, I have bought some new glasses (Wilko 50p each ) in blue to match my dinner service.

Dinner was early today because DH is going swimming tonight.
I made prawn stuffed courgettes with homegrown salad, homegrown courgettes and homegrown charlotte potatoes, and a couple of handfuls of prawns from a bag that I found in the freezerDrooling_smiley.gif So it will be something like beans on toast for supper tonight.

Mind you all of this talk of parsnip and apple soup has me craving someDrooling_smiley.gif
I either use fresh sage leaves, cumin or curry powder to mine, I will have to try it with nutmeg or rosemary now. I can't wait for my parsnips to be ready :)

EDIT: Just been out and picked another 3kgs of runner beans and a cob of sweetcorn :) The butternut squash looks like it won't be long before harvest, they have started to change colour :D
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

  • Well done Dumpling on getting out :D

Shame on ignorant people making rude comments, especially when you had your little grandchild with you. That person was an idiot and you shouldn't give a damn what an idiot has to say!
  • Evening all
Had a flying visit from DS2, he arrived as we were sitting down for tea, fortunately there was loads & there is still a portion for lunch tomorrow.
Busy at work though one person will be back on Monday, so not too bad.
    Have a good evening.
    Hugs Hester
