  • Gas meters going backwards isnt new to me...
Me neither, but they ve had a tamper with the index cogs to achieve that.. Have known the digital reads on the Siemans meters etc to go bonkers but never in a controlled backwards run
  • OP,is your gas meter white plastic electronic digital with the brand Eurometers or Siemens?

I think its an Actaris meter.

Has this meter been yours for a long time, or have you recently moved into the property?

Only ask because it may have been tampered with before you took responsibility for it. If it has been tampered with, then be prepared to provide evidence that it had nothing to do with you. :)

We've been here over 7 years. The meter was replaced several years ago though for routine maintenance as it was old (installed when house originally built) but has worked properly from day 1 and we've not tampered with it obviously. It has an annual check for safety as our property is rented privately (within family).
Failure is only someone elses judgement.

Backwards isnt new, op have you had a boiler service or any gas work done? If so its likely the inompitent engineer has piped the meter up backwards. The govenor (metal should be on the left on the suply coming in side, and the right should be to your come supply. post a pic and i will confirm.. For others its called a reversed supply gas meter and this sends the meter backwards due to forcing the gas the incorrect way
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

It's worked fine for years until now so I don't understand how it can suddenly malfunction?

I think we need to clarify what sort of meter it is.

Can you identify from the following page which one it most closely resembles..?

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
