Hey Ladies
Eeee just had a little butterfly excited moment again!
Dundeediva how did your dress try on go?
Tried on mine at weekend and need to lose more weight so more effort in the gym and diet is needed.
Sounds a bit rubbish with your bridesmaid, why did she go for the only colour you didn't want??
Is she going on your hen do?
I sorted and booked in my hairdresser yesterday as they'd only just got their appointment book ready for May.
Because they know me and my mum so well they didn't want to take a deposit and are letting my MUA come there so everything will be done together yey :j less racing around on morning of wedding. Just a very early start of 8:30am!
Going shoe shopping with 2 of my Bridesmaids tomorrow so will see how I get on with persuading one of them on the idea of red shoes, she's also a little bit of a problem as she's never worn heels, but luckily she's the tallest BM so will not be a problem with the others wearing heels next to her.
My Jan schedule of tasks hasn't gone so great as still not found any music to walk down the aisle too. Everything is either too durgy (OH's phrase) or too fast.
But have sorted:
-Mens suits and Ushers waistcoats and cravats
-Make Up artist is booked, need to arrange trial date
- Hairdresser booked, trial in early May
- Have found the vases, need to go to Ikea (
- Wedding rings bought
- Vows are chosen and forms for registrar are filled out ready, just waiting on one final reading to be finished and then will send them off.
This weekend along with the shoe shopping I'm hoping to take my shoes to the shop to be sent off and dyed, and also have a look at hair accessories.
Also going to buy the vodka and skittles ready to start making the favours
What aisle entrance music is everyone else having?
Hope all the plans are coming along wellEngaged 25/12/2013 :T

hey purple!
Dress fitting went well, have lost about a stone since i originally bought the dress so its 99% of the way there, just a teeny tiny bit more weight and itll be perfect!
I'm still confused about the bm thing! I have no idea why she picked grey or why she wentoff on one etc but frankly, i need supportive people with me on our big day so have a bit of a "good ridance" feeling atm. I'm not having a hen do i don't think, not really my style. Night before the wedding we'll be staying in hotel (we meaning my mum, me, sister and daughter) so will be having a pyjama party with food and laughs lol! Thats my ideal night anyway
I booked my hairdresser yesterday, hes my own hairdresser and will come to me. Total bargain too, £100 all in for my trial then on the day for me, bm and mum, and hes coming to us. He's lovely too and possibly the most stereotypical gay hairdresser type you can imagine, just what i want on my wedding day
I'm having a bagpiper so my entrance will be to highland cathedral. If i didnt have a piper, it wouldve been caledonia, sung by a friend (can you tell i'm scottish? Lol).
Good luck shoe shopping today!Saving money like a trouper...0 -
Hello, I'm a May bride (23rd) and thought I'd join in.
We're having a very small registry office ceremony with just us, our daughter, my partner's son, both sets of parents, my brother, and my partner's brother and wife. We're then going out for lunch at our favourite restaurant. In the evening we're having a reception and so far we've invited 170 people
I've bought my dress, from Oxfam, it's gorgeous and was such a lovely morning there"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." Edmund Burke

Morning Ladies
Hope you're all well!!
Not long to go for us now, my phone countdown app tells me only 86 days :j
Hi Tigzem that sounds like a nice way of doing it and less stressful with just a small wedding and meal then a big party.
Unfortunately OH has way too much family and their all so close.
Need to start doing more push ups and planks to tone the back and arms (rest of the body isn't really on show really lol)
Dundeediva hope your coping ok with just the 2 bridesmaids now. the pyjama party sounds like fun! And that is a serious bargain for a hairdresser!!
Shoe shopping didn't go so great as the 2 bridesmaids I was with suddenly got it into their heads to have ivory shoes. They found rainbow club ones they liked but then decided that they probably would never wear red shoes again (with my problem BM doing her usual face pulling), so I said hmm maybe.
Got back to the house and they tried on their dresses again, but with the red underskirts this time, queue more face pulling from said BM. I've given in on not having underskirts now though as one of them it did not help her shapely bottom when we took test photos from the side.
For a week afterwards though I couldn't stop thinking about the shoes and eventually came to the conclusion that I couldn't picture their dresses with ivory shoes.
So eventually put my foot down and send a whatsapp to all the girls saying I was sorry but had gone back to my original idea and vision (as per my pinterest lol) of red shoes.
We have yet to find the shoes though as red heels don't seem to be very in at the moment on the high street. They all seem to like peep toe but varying heights. Was very tempted to just buy the rainbow club shoes and get them dyed. However, shoes is the only thing I've asked the BM's to buy themselves (as probably the only thing they may use again).
Off to do some gift list zapping at John Lewis on Saturday, ohhh shopping without spending money haha. Although my Granny has got it into her head and told relatives that I just want money lol gotta love the oldiesEngaged 25/12/2013 :T

for a fitting or a try on Andy? They don't normally do any alterations until around now incase you change size.
I think i'm almost ready now. Need to choose vows and music and finish centre pieces and a few gifts.
Starting to feel a bit sick now its coming roudn too quickly. 60 days!0 -
Hehe snap ceh209 I had mine aswell yesterday well alteration fitting, hope it went well!!!
Was so relieved at mine the dress fit woohoo!! And yes sorry Andy should be clearer it was my first alteration fitting lol, already had a try on when was looking for my dream dress, then again when it arrived in the shop, then again at my mum's a few weeks ago ( weight loss incentive hehe). I know some girls also have an accessories fitting so they can try on veils, shoes, hair clips, tiaras etc.
Apparently the alterations will be 2 - 3 weeks and then 1 last fitting and all done eeek!
So yeah was on a roll yesterday and got my veil and hair slide too so have everything I'm wearing now. My new spanx and Bravissimo bra worked well with the dress too for a more streamlined look
Feeling very satisfied and sorted and quite calm today, hoping I can keep up this feeling for another 8 1/2 weeks haha :rotfl:Engaged 25/12/2013 :T

I appreciate your optimism that I would have the slightest clue that I would know what the dress malarkey was all about
Still 66 days to go!0
