This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Another sleepless night, DH is full of horrible cold and cough, he can't sleep without snoring and I can't sleep with him snoring. Went down to the sofa at 3am but then naughty little pets heard me and made a racket until neighbour went to work at 4:30am and then hot water came on at 4:45am. Am going to get in GDD's bed in spare room tonight, I really am not a nice person without sleep
Better dash now but will try and catch up later.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day.

Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
Now getting light, dry underfoot and not windy, seems like we may get a dry day, hoping for some sunshine too.
DH up and gone to work stupid stupid stupid early.
Dinner last night was gammon, egg, onion sauce, new potatoes, peas and green beans, ice cream for those that had room. Tonight we’re having beef casserole, potatoes, and veg, the casserole will be slow cooker casserole so that I can just put everything in this morning and not worry about it. Hairdresser is coming tonight so dinner will be a bit late.
DS1 starts his job today, he’s up, had brekkie now getting ready to leave. DS2 won’t be too much longer before he gets up. This will be my first full day of being at home alone all day – looking forward to the peace and quiet although there’s things I just can’t do, ie, I can make a drink but then can’t carry it anywhere, so have to stand/lean and drink it where it’s made. I’ll wait until the boys have left for work/school before I go and get washed and dressed.
Went to bed very early for me last night to ensure I got up with DS1 this morning, so I think I’ll be tired later. I did sleep very well though, I just need to get comfortable, which appears to be on my back as that’s the best way for my foot and leg to lay and also means my poorly leg is on the outside edge so less chance of bumping it in the night.
Take care x
Keep safe and well x

Morning all
Hubby's been fed & dropped at work with his packup, I'll set of for work in 15 minutes, I have a problem with the canteen, I usually treat myself to a curry on a Thursday, I checked my account & I had £3.60 in it, I purchased the curry, £1.80, hubby bought a bacon roll on Friday £1 & now my account is showing 26p left, so I need to sort that out this morning.
I'm another one here lacking sleep, a work colleague lost her father last night, he's been very ill & we knew it was imminent, unfortunately she sent out a text to everyone in her phone book at 10 to 1 this morning & whilst I do feel sorry for her I feel I could have waited until later this morning to have been notified.
I'm not sure what will happen at work today, we have a colleague who's been signed off with depression for a month, I may have to cover part of her job & also the bereaved colleague won't be in for a couple of days, so It will be busy.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -

Washing ready to go out, meant to be good day today, hope so as we are heading off to the other side of Kent, down to Hythe and further along, taking a picnic and the flask so a very OS day out. I expect it will involve looking in the charity shops for cutlery for DH to make into jewellery, his new hobby. Dinner with family.
Happy birthdays to those with birthdays and hugs to those who need them.
Right, finish the coffee and off for a early swim before we go out.
Have a good day.Carolbee0 -
Morning :hello:
nmlc Good luck to your sonCould you make a flask of coffee and keep it next to your chair/wherever so you can sit and have a drink?
The garden is nice and tidy and there's no chicken poo on the patioA few plants in pots have been [STRIKE]pecked[/STRIKE] shredded by hen's beaks so I'll go through them later and see what can be salvaged.
I have a pile of invoices to sort through. Also want to update spreadsheets and check grocery spends – mr tru has got into the habit of popping into the small Sainsburys and Tescos, very expensive and it's always for something that's not needed, he buys stuff because 'he thought we were running low on it'.
The house needs dusting and hoovering right through. I will definitely do that this morning, not sure if the rest will get done today. I have the dentist later this morning, as the local anaesthetic wears off I usually get a thumping headache which lasts all day and painkillers won't touch.

Good morning everyone
I'm another one who didn't get enough sleep last night. I wear a cpap mask because of my sleep apnea but the mask kept slipping and hissing in my face....very annoying  . I need a new one but because of the NHS cutbacks I have to wait until I get my appointment through which was supposed to be last April!! I rang them a few weeks ago and the lady said it would be a couple of months more as they were swamped. If I don't hear anything this month I shall have to ring again, I don't like hassling people but it is important my mask fits properly or it doesn't work efficiently.
The girls had a good first day back at school yesterday. I did my domestic goddess bit:A and had freshly made chocolate cake and glasses of milk waiting for them as I knew they would be tired and starving, especially my youngest as I don't think she's ever had to walk that far before. Never mind, the exercise will do them good.
I have my CMHT worker coming this afternoon to introduce herself. She sounded very young on the phone but I will wait and see (not that it matters, as long as she is good at her job). I am hoping she will be able to help with my bus pass renewal as even though I don't go out very much, having a bus pass has helped me a lot financially.
Today, I will be baking a lemon drizzle cake, making some healthy beefburgers with low fat mince and generally tidying up before my visitor. My eldest DD is working but will probably pop in for a coffee between clients. I need a shower and to get dressed so I will love you and leave you. Hope everyone manages to have a great day whatever they are up to. Take care xx0 -
Morning all,
Quick one from me as I am running late off to work for me today.

Morning All
Usual chores this morning before work - I am having a day at the farm today! We have a member of staff who can't manage all the trips (she picks and chooses which ones she wants to do) and feels that the farm smells will get to her chest - in other words she needs to sit down quite a lot. I am always tolerant of folks' needs but if you're not fit to do the job you need to seriously think about your position.
Went on a wild goose chase after work yesterday to B&queue, H0mebase and Scr£wfix for some sockets that don't seem to exist any more - brushed steel with no screw holes and no inserts. We had them in the other house but nowhere seems to do them any more. Need to re-think.
Another one with not enough sleep - seem to be waking at 4am again and then just dozing. If I could stay up after about 10.30 I might be in with a better chance of sleeping longer but I am shattered by then as I have been awake for so long!
Anyway, hugs to all, good luck to nmlc's DS. Hope anyone feeling under the weather feels better soon. Take care. XX0 -
Good Morning chums coffee morning this morning at U3A,it will be nice to see some old friends again after the school holidays (we have a break in August because of so many grannies having childcare commitments).so its off to Dobbies where I will use my freebie coffee voucher, and try not to buy anything whilst I'm there:)
I have been rooting through my cupboards for stuff for ben to take with him when he goes off to Uni.i have got a few bits and pieces for him already.
Well time I got the kettle on,its so nice not having to rush around in the morning now Mikey walks to school, although I may have to help a bit on Thursday morning as my so-in-law has his college day release to go to.
Have a great day everyone what ever you are doing
