Not the airlines fault ?

I was due to fly to Bucharest from Robin Hood Doncaster at 7;30 pm with Wizzair but just as we started to taxi away from the terminal another plane, just landing, had an collapsed undercarriage and blocked the runway (no injures). We were unloaded and after waiting around for a number of hours were sent to a local hotel. The next day the airport was still closed and at about 11am we decided not to travel (only going for the weekend). Wizzair have refunded the cost of the flights but we have lost the hotel fees in Bucharest.
Does any one know if/how I can claim these back, maybe from the damaged aircraft company or the airport ?
Grateful for any help.

Have you looked at the coverage of your travel insurance?

Thanks for the replies, No go with the insurance as the excess is £200 and that's about the cost of the hotel.

I assume it was a very cheap policy! £200 excess is pretty steep.

It was a Links Air flight from Belfast with all of one passenger and crew who suffered a collapsed undercarriage. After a delay of 5 hours you can cancel and have your money back but that's it. Maybe not the right choice to cancel but then you did avoid Bucharest which may have been a blessing in disguise.
