So to confirm, £25 is all that I will be losing? If that's the case, fantastic!
Fantastic = "Imaginative or fanciful; remote from reality" (Oxford English Dictionary)
£25 is an admin fee to cover the cost of setting up the policy.
If that's all they charge, they will have insured you for nothing, which is not a good business model. They will almost certainly also charge for the time you were insured, which works out at about £20 a day.0 -

I have a 4.5L engine, faster and better acceleration with a newly qualified driver and pay less a year than you are a month
Want an accurate figure? Call Bell and check, use saynoto0870.co.uk to get a more favourable number to call.

They will charge for the time on cover. And cancelling after a week or so will probably flag him up for even higher premiums in the future.
A 20 year old, living in Birmingham, with a powerful, status-symbol hot hatch is utter madness, and that's why the quotes reflect that.
OP, back out of this purchase now, buy a more suitable car and try again in 5 years.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

What are you going to do when you've cancelled the insurance with Bell Direct? Drive the car uninsured? Front it with your Mum? Park it in an air-conditioned garage for a couple of years?
My mum does not drive. The car is going to be sorn until January. Which it will be then insured for a full year. I would never risk driving without insurance.InsideInsurance wrote: »That is exceptionally expensive, how young are you/ bad your history/area is??

Exceptionally expensive indeed. I tried both my parents house, B90, DY9, about both similar prices. Strange as they are decent postcodes.
20, 2 years NCB, no claims, me main driver, 2 named drivers, one driven over 13 years, 34 year old, one driven 11 years, 29 years old, low risk jobs.
Will try some prestiege insurers.Fantastic = "Imaginative or fanciful; remote from reality" (Oxford English Dictionary)

Hmm, £20 a day is not to bad, a temp cover would mostly likey be tripple that.
Will call up to confirm exact price anyway.0 -

How will they "flag him up" if the OP cancels the policy?
According to the policy documents they get a 100% refund if cancelled within 14 days and have no accidents."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -

Bell is part of the Admiral group, which keeps every single record, even job title changes on quotes/mileage etc from people trying to bring prices down. Not much of a stretch to spot that a high risk policy holder takes out a policy for a new car and then cancels once the cover note has done its job. And then add a loading for that extra risk.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
