Bell Direct 14 day cancelation fee charges: What will I pay?

Hi guys, I need to take out a insurance policy for about a week and half and a temp cover is impossible due to my age. So I need to get a car insured for about a week and half, and then cancel it within the 14 days cooling off period.

I had a quote from bell direct, and I will take out the policy on a montly basis and NOT pay it all up front.

From these figures and the pro rata fees Bell direct charges, can someone help me work out how much I will pay if I cancel just a day before the cooling off period?

Total: £7,302.86

1 x £608.70 (Deposit)
11 x £608.56 (Monthly payments, though I will be canceling before 14 days)

Breakdown cover included, legal assistance £25.00, though not taking it out.

Many thanks

If you have an accident then the FULL annual premium is payable.

If you cancel before 14 days then EUI Ltd will charge a £25 admin fee on top of the Bell Insurance time on risk charge.

What car are you trying to buy that costs over £7,000 a year to insure?

What on earth happened to the other insurance cover you said you had? Bell will probably be charging you the best part of that £600 deposit, you know.

Read up in the policy document what happens if you cancel within 14 days.

Most companies will charge a cancellation fee as well as premium for the days on cover.

Says that if you cancel with 14 days of your welcome letter/email you will get 100% refund less £25 fee, assuming you have no accidents...by the look of the OP's last thread though.....EEK !!!

I had a call from first central insurance, my current insurance, they asked me to confirm a few details and then put me on hold, they then said my quote of £2300 has now gone up to £9800 due to 'risk'

So I am likely to lose all of that £600+ deposit for the 14 days?

I need an exact figure, but there website is not helpeful at all.

I thought their website was very helpful!

What are you doing to do with the car once you cancel the insurance? Are you not planning on driving it once you get it back home?

So to confirm, £25 is all that I will be losing? If that's the case, fantastic!

If you want to confirm then speak to Bell or EUI Ltd directly, but after I spent 60 seconds reading the policy, that is the conclusion I came to.

This isn't going well, is it?

What are you going to do when you've cancelled the insurance with Bell Direct? Drive the car uninsured? Front it with your Mum? Park it in an air-conditioned garage for a couple of years?

That is exceptionally expensive, how young are you/ bad your history/area is??

I have a 4.5L engine, faster and better acceleration with a newly qualified driver and pay less a year than you are a month

Want an accurate figure? Call Bell and check, use saynoto0870.co.uk to get a more favourable number to call.
