Are you with Virgin Media? Can you help us get a better deal?

Hey guys,

Odd request but basically I am with Sky at the moment for TV, Broadband and phone. I saw a guy on this forum and have also heard from a friend of a friend who has just got an awesome package on Virgin media and yep you guessed it, I want it!!!

I am now out of contract with Sky and in a position to haggle however the deal offered by Virgin is too good to be true and switching has become the only option!

Here's the catch though, the friend of a friend and the forum member I don't know, the friend is more of a guy i've met once and don't know him all that well and the forum member isn't very active on here... therefore getting this deal is proving to be quite difficult.

The deal is as follows:
152mb
Phone Talk Weekend Calls
1tb Box
Extra HD Box
Big Kahuna package
BT Sport
Netflix (6mths)
12 Month Contract
Free Install

Total.......£33

However the only way of getting this is phoning up and giving them a reference. This comprises of either his account number, postcode and house number or phone number. That way Virgin said they can compare the accounts and basically give me exactly the same deal as he is getting. But if I can't provide this the deal can't be matched.

Now, I have tried to contact both guys but I have had no success. Does anyone on this forum get a deal similar to this or better and would they be willing to help me out?

A long shot I know but worth a punt.

Cheers,

That looks like a employee referral rate - as that's super cheap.

And no ones going to give you an account number and postal code for a normal account, not unless they are oblivious to the implications of doing so. Its not a good idea.
  • I can't do much with just a postcode or just an account number can I? I have no issue with the said person phoning up on my behalf and saying they have recommended me and for them to get a specific reference number for me to quote when I call.

Plainly, this is not ever going to happen.

An existing customer can also text VM with their account number (also known as a CAF number), a Tech ID number (which I have), as well as your name and phone number. At no point in time do you need my details in any way, shape or form.

Once you sign up, both the existing customer (me) and the new customer (you) each get a £50 credit added to their bill within the first month.
If you're interested then PM me, I've certainly no objection to making a quick bullseye.

Or it's the "introductory" price which will be valid for the first 3 months, after which it reverts to the normal punter price.
